Regrettably, I am unaware of the applicable standard. My condo, which was built in 2006 and was already wired for a home network, is where I'm using it. I hope this information is useful.
Cat6 is slightly stiffer and thicker due to the manufacturing process. They're still 24g UTP cable, but they're wrapped tighter (hence the added stiffness) and have an isolator between pairs, making them a little bulkier. They can bend as much or as little as any other cat. There are no restrictions on the number of cables that can be used.

The connectors on the ends of the cable are CAT5e; this is not a true CAT6 cable, and you will experience increased crosstalk (lower speeds).
The day before Thanksgiving, I ordered these cat6 cables (5 7 foot cables), and they arrived today. Because I upgraded my internet service to 1Gbps, I needed these. With the single cat6 cable I had, I was able to test my new connection. I went ahead and put the new cables in today. Two were actually required: One connects the computer to the router, while the other connects the router to a switch. Imagine my surprise when I tried connecting my computer to the router with a cable. I'd reverted to a speed of 100 Mbps. Only one of the other four would work at 1Gbps speed, so I checked them all. Yes, I double-checked with my original cat6 cable, and it worked every time. br>br>At the same time, I bought some shorter-length cables, but they're all being returned. I'm not sure if it's the cable or a problem with the connectors, but I'm not going to waste any more time with this brand. I understand that some people have had success with it; good for them, but it doesn't work for me.
With all of our high-tech equipment, I realized that It was absurd to have obsolete cables on end computers. br>br>These were a significant improvement over what we had previously, and I must admit that there was a noticeable speed increase. I had hoped for a bit more, but I was able to get a few megabytes above my usual top speeds. I suppose "fast" is a relative term, but given that we don't live in San Francisco, I consider myself lucky to have any speed at all. Currently, my heart rate is around 215 beats per minute. 216 MBPS. My computer used to run at around 209 MHz before I switched to the new cables. 210 br>br>The upload is where I've seen the biggest difference. My upload speed has nearly doubled, which is impressive; either my old cables were bad, or these are. Regardless of which it is, I am pleased, particularly since it did not cost me much. br>br>**Update 8/11/2019*
br>I'd like to provide you with an update on the Cat6 cables I purchased in June. Now that I've had some time to reflect, I've noticed that I've had fewer interruptions- There will be fewer drops and sudden pauses. My old cables may have been the source of occasional bandwidth bottlenecks. In any case, I used to have to reactivate my internet connection more frequently- Now, I only do it once in a while.
CableMatters Cat6 cables are a waste of money. br>br>In our very large corporate networking infrastructure, we were experiencing a slew of minor gremlins. Finally, one of the issues was identified as a faulty cable one day. Ok. This does occur. Cables wear out over time. As a result, we gradually began to see our other issues as cable-related. one after another. We discovered that our gremlins were caused by bad cables, and that all of the pulled bad cables were CableMatters cables, despite the fact that their lengths were all different (and thus, different sales packages). We didn't use their product again because all of the other cables we used were fine. br>br>We won't use their product again because of this. br>br>Other cat6 cables we've used have worked perfectly.
I bought several of these to connect my mining rig to a Netgear switch, and they've been working flawlessly since February. The cable has a premium feel to it. They aren't overly stiff, but there are no network issues to speak of. This is also connected to the shed via a 100-foot Cat6 cable. It appears to be coping well with the cold and now the heat. br>br>Overall, a fantastic product that I would buy again. Overall, Cable Matters appears to have consistently excellent cables (no, I am not compensated for any of the Amazon purchases and reviews). br>br>You also get an absurd amount of small zip ties, which I was delighted to receive. I rarely use zip ties for network cable, but I now have around 200 of them in various colors (clear, green, blue, and another color that I can't recall, but no black). It was extremely useful for a variety of other purposes!.
These stranded copper 24awg 4 twisted pair cables are well-made and flexible. I filed both sides of the rj45 plug evenly to a 9 when making the patch cable for the arris nvg599 router. To fit the rj11 socket, it must be 82 mm in length. Also tried replacing the rj45s with crimped on rj11s (no need to go through the hassle unless you don't have the space for the molded rj45s) (no performance difference). I am confident in the quality of Cable Matters. One of the cables was used for the ethernet patch it was supposed to be. There are now extras. The reason I ordered these was to make a cat6-compatible cat6-compatible cat6-compatible cat6-compatible cat6-compatible cat rj11- You can't buy a 6' cable like this! By filing the sides of the rj45, I was able to create one. The adsl2 signal is typically input via the middle pins on most routers. Making the rj11-connector was a breeze. cat6 cable without jeopardizing the assembled cable's integrity Hoo- hurrah for Cable Matters, and hurrah for Cable Matters, and hurrah for Cable Hoo-ray for me and ray for Hoo-ray for Hoo-ray for Hoo-ray for kudos to Amazon for stocking such high-quality items. The cost was perfectly reasonable.
Out of a total of five, ZERO, ZERO, ZERO, ZERO, ZERO, I've never used such bad cables before. It's the cables; I used known good switches, devices, and so on.
These are a good length for connecting close devices like your cable modem and router, router and an additional switch, or patch panel to switch connections. They are, however, insufficiently long to perform any type of cable management on a rack. You shouldn't have to because they're short enough. br>br>The ends are free of snags - There is a protective tab over the connector release clip, but it is not a full boot. These could still be snagged on occasion, in my opinion. br>br>An interesting feature of these cables is that they come in a long box with straight cables - When you receive them, they will not be bent or coiled in any way. They're not as flexible as cat5e cables because they're thicker (cat6), but they can still be bent. br>br>I like to keep a variety of length cables in my box for various uses, and I'm happy to have a few of these on hand when the need arises.
