Although there is no branding on the controller chips, it mounts perfectly on my Mac. It comes with a lot of garbage. br>br> You get a garbage screwdriver, a sticker, two plastic bags, a plastic molded internal piece to keep it in an oversized box, and a small rubber thing protruding through the box (presumably a hang tab for retail shelves?). All of this is crammed into the cardboard box, which is the only thing you'll need aside from the screws and the enclosure. br>br>Overall, this isn't a spectacular display, but it works, it's small, it comes with a cable, and it's only slightly more expensive than the cable alone. This is a good choice and a good value if you want to repurpose an old hard drive, perhaps to back up your data and put it on a shelf. It's worth investing in something with vibration and thermal mitigation if it's going to get a lot of use.

After upgrading my PS4 Pro's internal storage to an SSD a few months ago, I still had its original 2. 5" was lying around, untouched, with all of my information still intact. Fast forward to last week, when my brother-in-law brings his Xbox One over so we can play a Battlefield marathon in anticipation of the upcoming 2042 game. Unfortunately, because he only had 300 GB of internal memory on his One S, he couldn't download all of the games at once. This is where this item comes in handy! I was able to order this for next-day delivery, and I was able to slide in my old PS4 hard drive, plug it into his Xbox, and have it ready to go in less than 20 minutes after opening it. The Xbox even formatted all of the PS4 system software so it could be used as 1TB of external memory. All of the screws (including extras) and a magnetized screw driver were included in the package. It was a piece of cake.

It comes with a piece of "connectivity tape" that is supposed to go on the drive to keep the electronics from touching the aluminum. The second issue is that the internal housing is made of very flimsy plastic. It would be nice if they put this on the case rather than the drive. I can see how this would be a problem if you were swapping drives more than a few times. I don't intend to change the drive any time soon, so I don't think it'll be a problem.

These excellent quality SSK aluminum enclosures are exactly what I was hoping for after returning a flimsy and overly tight alternative that broke during assembly! To me, the SSK enclosures have a high-quality feel to them. The outer case is sturdy and appears to be of high quality. The screws that are included in the design are also of high quality and add to the enclosure's overall solidity. It's easy to put together - just follow the instructions. There's even a small screwdriver included. The inner carriage is made of plastic, but it is not flimsy in any way. The hard drive is encased on all four sides by a plastic inner carriage, which slides smoothly and neatly into the outer enclosure and holds it securely in place. place. It won't break like the low-quality alternative I returned if you take reasonable precautions during assembly. These SSK 2 have a lot of promise. Aluminium enclosures for 5" SATA hard drives!.
