Questions & Answers

Will this work with my 2013 Macbook Pro's factory hard drive: model: a1502 ?

Thank you for contacting us, BirdMan. I apologize if it is not compatible with your Apple drive model a1502, in which case you will most likely need a converter, and you will also need to consider whether your Apple ssd drive length is compatible with M. There are two NVMe enclosures available.

Thunderbolt support? The listing claims it does, but the realtek rtl9210b chip does not. ?

My name is m, and I'd like to welcome you to my website. 2 SSD enclosures are Thunderbolt 3 compatible, but they may not be able to reach Thunderbolt 3's maximum transfer speed.

Is it possible to use it on a laptop?

If the storage device is an M. 2 (NVM. drive (not a 2. e or SATA) with a standard form factor (not a 2. It'll work with a 5" SATA drive. It comes with a standard USB cable as well as a USB C to USB C adapter, so you should be good to go.

It appears to dissipate heat well, but there's no way to ensure a thermal pad has good contact because it's a slide-in installation?! right?

Yes, if you install thermal, that is correct. When you try to slide in the M2 ssd after sticking it to the case (which is a little difficult), it takes the insulator tape with it and damages it. I ended up putting the tape directly on the ssd and using it that way. There haven't been any problems yet.

Although he appears to be cool, he is a jerk

I'm going to give it two stars because it looks and feels good. Unfortunately, it only gets two stars. I have a 512GB PNY CS900, 256GB Samsung Evo, and 512GB Vulcan-branded external NVME drive, as well as a 512GB PNY CS900, 256GB Samsung Evo, and 512GB Vulcan-branded external NVME drive. G 2. In external cases, a 5" drive is used. Even the slowest has a CrystalDisk benchmark of 400/350MB/s. br>br>I put a 256GB Kingston NVME in this case that cleared well over 1 GB/s on both. I'm currently working with a 3. 1 Gen 1 USB, so I know my Avery's maximum speed for both will be around 480 Mb/s. With this, I was able to achieve 350/250MB/s. So I'm thinking, "OK, but try doing a sustained write. " Some drives, such as the Vulcan-D, can do that. After about 10-minutes, G drips down to around 70 Mb/s. There are 15 seconds remaining. br>br>When I tested this drive, my computer froze and made about a dozen beeps, so I had to unplug all of my USB devices and reconnect them. they're linked So I tried connecting only this, and it still dropped and reconnected. br>br>Because of the slow speeds and the fact that it crashed my USB, I can't recommend it unless you're looking for something that's barely functional but looks cool. br>br>I intend to return. It's an excellent solution
5/5

This is the second time I've purchased a USB flash drive. PCIe M to PCIe C. 2 SSD adapter; it took me a few minutes to connect the SSD and the adapter; it works well and is easy to set up. With my Lenovo T-70, I was able to read at 1023 MB/S and write at 983 MB/S. 470S PC. br>br>The only minor issue is the locking key; be aware of the chassis and board directions; it would be nice if there was a mark to indicate alignment. br>br>The thermal pad is very useful; it should be installed to avoid overheating when working with large files.

There are some flaws in this case
3/5

Although it has a nice aluminum casing with colored fancy LED lights, it does not dissipate heat well. Because the Thermal Pad does not come pre-assembled, it is difficult to use. There are no instructions on how to add that to the system that have been installed. If your SSD is full size, the Notch it holds is not properly designed, and if pressed a little further, it will touch the PCB, posing a risk to the SSD if it comes into contact with the circuits. Please take a look at the photos that have been attached. Aside from that, it's a pretty good case. I'll update the review once I've completed some writing and reading exercises.

Enclosure is extremely slow, much slower than advertised
3/5

I bought this enclosure for my NVMe drive, which is rated at 3000 R/W and works as expected on the motherboard. When I first moved into the enclosure (with thermal paste) and discovered that installation was indeed tool-free and simple, the speeds seemed off. I got sub-100 read/write speeds when I used the BlackMagic disk speed app. My USB 1 drives are much slower! It wasn't the NVMe, but it was definitely this subpar USB-C port. enclosure (c) This is one you should avoid.

I got this to hold a 1TB WD m and it works fine, but it's not very durable
3/5

As a backup, I have two hard drives. It works, but the locking mechanism appears to be a little flimsy in my opinion. I'm more concerned about the tiny plastic clip that secures the stick to the table. It appears that a simple fall at the right angle would be enough to loosen it, causing the stick to spring up into the outer shell. It would be far better if the stick could be held in place with a screw. As it stands, I had to cut the top off one of the plastic standoffs for shorter drives and place it under this full-size drive, or it would have bounced down onto the board, which could have been avoided with a better mechanism. br>br>I'm having trouble figuring out what the led colors and motion man are doing; I believe they're just on a loop. br>br>I'll be looking for something better in the near future, but for something that could be delivered the same day, this worked.

There isn't anything wrong. Because I had an extra M. br>br>Because I had an extra M. br>br>Because I had an extra M. I purchased this enclosure to copy data between my personal computer and my business laptop, which has two NVMe SSDs. I did read and write tests and it ran very stable for a long time without any loss of connection, which is pretty good for a 10Gbps enclosure. br>br>The RGB is pleasant to look at and provides a clear indication of the enclosure's status. The M. 2 After transering large files, the SSD gets a little warm, but I think that's fine. In any case, it gets hot when connected to the computer.

The chipset used on this enclosure is not yet recognized by Samsung Data Migration
3/5

To clone my internal M, I bought this SSD enclosure. 2 SSDs to a new Samsung 980 SSD (external). The Data Migration software continues to fail to recognize the SSD installed in this enclosure despite multiple attempts. I emailed clonix (the developer of Samsung Data Migration) technical support to confirm that the latest version of Data Migration (ver. The chipset used in this enclosure is not supported by version 17. JMicron's JMS583 and ASM2362 chipsets are the only ones supported by Data Migration. If you're looking for an SSD enclosure for the same reason, look for ones that use JMicron's JMS583 and ASM2362 controllers.

The advertised 24-hour response time for customer service is not met
3/5

This enclosure does what it claims to do, but the documentation is at best rudimentary: there are no instructions for locking in a full-size m2 card, and while the manufacturer includes thermal puddy in a strip, there are no instructions for using the thermal solution. Customer service is supposed to respond within 24 hours, according to the instructions, but my e-mail was not answered. Since last week, no mail has been replied to. It appears to do exactly what it should, but better documentation and customer service are required before it can be recommended to others.
