It was missing the tool that was used to pry the old screen out by sliding it around. After prying the screen out with a box cutter, I used a guitar pick to remove it. None of the screws could be accessed with the Y screwdriver. They were stripped of their clothing. I finally got them out using other tools I had on hand, but the new screen was broken. I recently upgraded my phone. Update. br>br> br>They stated that if I changed my review, they would refund my money. No refund has yet been given. Now I'm getting emails from people claiming that unless I change my reviews, they'll lose their jobs. I'm going to Amazon with these. I'm not sure what kind of company this is. They bribe me to change my review, and when I refuse, they threaten to fire me. This is a waste of time.

I'd be skeptical of all the 5-star reviews, especially since they include an Amazon credit coupon, which requires you to write a 5-star review as the first step in redeeming it. It's a shady practice that's gaining popularity. The screw driver I used for the first two screws was ineffective, and one of my screws was stripped. Because the suction cup is small and ineffective, no screen separation was possible. When I tried to insert the pick, it broke, and the screen color was off, with a gray tint and a washed-out appearance. It works perfectly.

After that, we took it to a local cell phone repair cart at our local mall, and the screen appeared to have ink smeared, lines, and the top of the screen was inoperable within a few weeks. I had lost faith in that company, so I planned to take it to a "certified" repair shop for $250. My best friend's husband, on the other hand, had replaced several of their children's cell phone screens and recommended that I buy this so that he could repair it. He took about 45 minutes because he wanted to make sure he did everything right (plus the previous repairman LEFT loose screws inside the phone!). The how- It's also very useful to watch a video! We had to do it without turning off the computer because the top of the screen wasn't working. We were concerned at first, but everything worked out in the end. br>br>Needless to say, it looks brand new and costs $200 less than having it repaired by a professional. know- Who is a reputable dealer? It comes highly recommended from me! For us, it was a huge success! Yay!.

The mobile phone's screen has been shattered. I've been debating whether or not to purchase and replace it myself. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to replace it. But, after reading the description, I decided to purchase it because the merchant promised to send a complete set of tools. I didn't let anyone down after receiving it, and replacing it was simple. So when I bought this iPhone XR replacement screen, it seemed like a good choice, and I installed it quickly after watching some YouTube tutorials and being very careful and slow. The glass has an OEM feel to it, and the LCD is nearly identical to the original (you can see a grid pattern beneath the glass at certain angles and in certain light conditions). The included water proof adhesive was a little difficult to position correctly, and I believe I did not do so correctly because I could push the bottom of the screen an eighth of an inch with enough pressure, but it simply moved back to its original position. br>br>Screen replacement worked fine for about a week until recently, when I was trying to catch an Uber on a hot afternoon and the screen got really hot (as it always does), but it started pressing things on its own, trying to unlock and press the passcode, spazzing out, or also known as ghost touch. I put the phone back in my pocket to let it cool down, which thankfully fixed the problem. br>It turns out that some iPhone replacement screens have POOR grounding, which can result in ghost touch. That's a shame, but I was willing to live with it. br>br>Then a few days later, I get a few droplets of water on top of the glass screen and swipe it off on my shirt like I had done thousands of times on the original screen before THIS replacement, and a few minutes later, it starts spazzing out and attempting to input the passcode, the ghost touch, as I had done thousands of times on the original screen before THIS replacement. However, this time it was for good. Only the bottom right half of the touch screen works after I tested it, and I can't even enter the passcode to unlock my phone. I can't even turn off the phone by sliding the slider. What a fantastic opportunity: I chalked it up to water damage and went out to get some good ol' rice. get rid of the moisture I put it in some rice (poorly) and the phone begins to ghost touch, inputting WRONG passcode AFTER WRONG passcode. You get the "iPhone is disabled, Connect to iTunes" message after the infamous hour lockout, which eventually happened. Now I'm really locked out, and if my memory serves me correctly, I'm locked out FOR REAL. After 10 failed attempts, I enabled the option to ERASE ALL DATA. So, it's possible that all of my data is now lost. br>br>Despite the fact that it says to connect the iPhone to iTunes in order to restore it, iTunes does not recognize it. The best part is that I can't get into Recovery or DFU mode because my VOLUME UP button is smashed in. br>I uninstalled the replacement screen while the phone was on and replaced it with my old one after unplugging the battery connector, but the phone is still locked up. br>br>I'm out of luck, my photos are gone, my 2 factor authentication app codes are gone, and I'm without a phone until I can get to an Apple store and see what they can do. They'll just advise me to get a new phone, according to 10 Bucks! br>The only thing I'm hoping for is that I didn't enable that setting and that it's just locked with all my data safe and sound (Unlikely, I'm an experimentalist who enables features but forgets about them)br>br>I'm fumid, calm, but fumid. br>What is the takeaway here? Fix your phones through a reputable source likebr>Apple Care or maybe iFixItbr>Good luck folks, apple products are notoriously bad when it comes to reparability. Soon, I'll be speaking with Apple Care's big brains. br>(Did wiping the phone on my shirt give me bad karma? LOL JP).

I'm glad I chose the DIY kit. It was made so much easier with this kit. My iPhone XR's screen was shattered, but it was successfully repaired. For instructions, I watched a few youtube videos (the content is the same, but finding a good youtuber for the step-by-step instructions was difficult). The importance of following a step-by-step procedure is crucial. There are a lot to choose from - It didn't take long for me to find it). The most difficult part was removing the damaged screen and separating it from the adhesive; I had to wedge my way in with a razor to create the gap needed to begin pulling the screen apart. I took my time and eventually dismantled it; I felt defeated at first, but once I did, the rest of the process was as simple as putting together Legos. My iPhone XR now has a perfect screen and works like new. For what it is (a non-Apple replacement), the quality is excellent. I felt accomplished when I was finished, and I had a great time doing it (1-). This project took a total of 2 hours to complete). One thing to note is that the 'True Tone' option will no longer appear in the display menu. I learned that unless it's an official Apple repair, this will be the outcome, which I don't mind because my screen is now as good as new for a very low price, and I didn't have to deal with the hassle of going to a third-party repair shop or the Apple Store. This kit is a one-stop shop for all your needs.
