There is no requirement for tape. Check the home button; the fingerprint feature was lost on mine.
The only thing you'll have to change is the home button, which comes with a standard button rather than Touch ID. These screens are now only used when absolutely necessary. Also, a fantastic kit.
Have you gotten a response yet? I had the same problem, and I took it to the Apple Store, where the repairman informed me that the motherborad had been damaged by the water, and that I should remove the screen assembly first to avoid further damage. The screen has nothing to do with it. You are welcome to give it a shot, but keep in mind that if the problem persists, you will need to contact us. Thank you for your interest.

This is my second iPhone screen repair, and I had high expectations because it had excellent reviews and the slightly higher price seemed more promising than the less expensive $25 screens. Unfortunately, not only is the color profile on this display terrible, but the screen itself on my phone has proven impossible to close tightly. I can't even get it closed enough to put the last two screws in, despite numerous attempts. I'm not sure if this screen is defective. When I get a chance, I'll probably buy a new screen and return this garbage. br>br>EDIT: br>br>The customer service team clarified that they sent me a defective product; however, I chose to have my screen replaced at a shop, and yodoit was extremely helpful and accommodating, with excellent customer service.
Some people have complained about the responsiveness being delayed, but I only noticed that when I put the screen protector that came with the screen on it. It appears to work normally when the screen is blank. It's only been one day, so fingers crossed it keeps going well. I'm happy with it so far because it's a lot less expensive than buying a new phone. I'm not sure how to install it because my husband did it for me. One minor quibble I have is that the front camera is a little fuzzier than before, but this isn't a deal breaker for me.
This screen is a perfect match for the original. The fit and finish are perfect. It performs admirably. I was concerned about the resolution, but I can't tell if this is better than the original. There are all of the tools you'll need. The packaging, too, was top-notch.
It worked perfectly! I honestly thought it was as good as the original screen, and I even used it for a few months with no problems, until I dropped my phone and it shattered, but I know where I'll get my next screen from! br>One thing to note is that after installing the new screen, the phone seemed to get hot near the camera. I discovered that dimming the screen and closing some background apps quickly resolved the problem.
This whole screen was used to replace the broken one. There is no need to remove the glass and only replace it with new glass. This includes a new front camera, sensor flex, home button, and earpiece speaker for a few extra dollars.
I ordered this to repair a phone for someone before I even had the phone in my hands, and it arrived with the phone. I made the mistake of not double-checking that the person had given me the correct model (something I'd forgotten to do before), so I opened their phone and began disassembling it. I wasn't aware of the issue until I was about to reconnect all of the ribbon cables. Whoops. Having said that, I purchased the correct kit from a different vendor. I was able to compare and contrast the contents of the various kits. Yodoit was a LOT more pleasant to work with. The magnetic chart for storing screws, so they don't get mixed up before the rebuild, was one of my favorites. Three screwdrivers, each with its own label. br>br>The other kit, from a different manufacturer, also came with three screwdrivers, but they were all black. There are no labels. It was also worded in a way that led me to believe (incorrectly) that all of the parts for the screen replacement would be included, but they weren't. There isn't any magnetic map available. Instructions are a lot more difficult to follow. br>br>In the future, if I need to replace something for someone, I'll first look at Yodoit's products.
Because the speaker and earphones were included, it took only 10 minutes to set up. When it comes to installation, there is a lower risk of damage. The original home button was all that was needed. The document is well-written. Professional-grade equipment is used. br>The glass material could be a little tougher and more resistant to cracking (not quite OEM hardness, but close), but dropping the phone is my fault anyway.
Screws are required! The bottom screws are always required for some reason, presumably because they are easily lost. The screen, on the other hand, worked perfectly, and I knew the TouchID wouldn't work because it was explicitly stated in the description. That is, however, the least of your concerns. a good substitute.
