I recently completed the installation of this screen. However, everything is in working order. br>br>1) There are no instructions included. The emailed video link does not exactly match the steps needed to install the provided screen. The video includes removing and transferring the selfie camera and sensors, which are not required for this product. br>br>2) There are two screws for the home button that you remove from the broken screen that are also screwed in on the replacement screen and must be removed during the installation. This screen comes with a replacement gasket to provide additional water protection, but there are no instructions for installing it, so I just left it off. br>br>3) This screen comes with a replacement gasket to provide additional water protection, but there are no instructions for installing it, so I left it off. br>br>4) This is just nitpicking, but the tools that come with this kit are of much lower quality than those that came with other replacement screens I've purchased in the past. They are functional, but not of high quality. br>br>5) The color on the replacement screen is slightly off, as noted by another reviewer. Maybe a blue tinge. It's noticeable at first, but it becomes second nature after a while. It is most likely in line with the price, and it has no bearing on the functionality. br>br>So the installation went smoothly, but there are a few things to keep in mind as you go through the process.
This is, without a doubt, preferable to paying. A professional fix will set you back $100. Warning: Incoming unnecessarily detailed review. Advantages: br>br>
- br>Affordable - Instructions in detail Before diving in, I watched the video a few times and found it to be much easier than I had anticipated.
- You don't have to bring your camera with you! It was one of the more intimidating steps of the process that I saw in videos, but this screen already has one installed. It's very handy.
- It also comes with a re-useable adhesive. Your phone should be waterproof. I'm a large shower-type of person. music- As a listener, this is fantastic. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- The screwdrivers are extremely flimsy, and I thought I had stripped a screw when it was actually the screwdriver. My father was fortunate enough to have a screwdriver set that included the rare pentalobe screwdriver head, but you might want to invest in a second set.
- I couldn't get the new screen to line up perfectly with the rest of the phone. My case didn't fit properly, which could be due to a design flaw or user error. I had no choice but to use an older, less durable case. br>br>Suggestions:br>- I assumed the colors on the screwdrivers corresponded to the colors on the magnetic pad where you set the screws after they've been removed. Not so. With a magnifying glass (they're tiny), examine each one carefully to determine which one to use and avoid accidentally stripping a screw, as I did.
- I've noticed that the screen has a blue tint to it; This is correct, but it can be corrected by going to the Settings menu. Affordability Dimensions of the display and text Filters that change the color of something. Then, under color tint, drag the slider to your preference.
Take care! So, after years of careful use and the use of Screen Protectors, I finally dropped my iPhone 8 and cracked the screen. I didn't want to replace this phone because it's a 256 GB model that still works well and I didn't want to spend the money on a new phone or commit to another contract. Although I am mechanically inclined, I am not an expert in small electronics. So, in any case, I went with this screen as a replacement. It should be done with extreme caution. The home button was the most annoying part. The screws were a PAIN IN THE A$$, and they were SO DAMN SMALL! I've misplaced one and can't seem to find it. The home button's function is disabled, but the fingerprint scanner is functional. The screen is functional, and I was able to use the accessibility options on the home button to get one on the screen. It will take some time to adjust to this. But it cost me $35 and took me an hour and a half. That's right, the home button was a pain. It was far superior to a new phone in my opinion. As I previously stated, the screen functions in general, but this is not a job for the faint of heart. I was about to give up.
Step-by-step instructions were included, which I followed. When I turned on the phone, the screen did not appear to work. I went back and read some of the other 1* reviews and noticed that the instructions don't say to unplug the battery first, which is required. REMOVE THE BATTERY. br>br> THIS IS NOT REQUIRED BY THE INSTRUCTIONS. br>br>As a result, my iPhone's logic board was ruined, and it went from a $30 repair to a multi-hundred dollar repair. Repair costs a few hundred dollars. Although the tools provided were adequate, the instructions omitted the most crucial step. You may use this product as long as you follow someone else's instructions.
