Questions & Answers

Will this lens hood work with my fixed lens x100f?

NO, there is no way. 23mm F2 WR and 35mm F2 WR are the only sizes that will fit. The lens hoof from the x100T was used on the x100f, which I think is much nicer. It was something I used to have. It looks fantastic.

When mounted on a 23mm F2 lens, how far does it stick out? In my camera bag, there's not much room. Thanks. ?

The Hood protrudes 19mm, while a filter and lens cap protrude 11mm without the Hood.

Is this lens cap compatible with the hood? https: //www. amazon. com/gp/product/b002keyy6k/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/b002keyy6k/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1? smid=atvpdkikx0der is a smid that stands for "atvpdkikx0der" ?

It's compatible with the lenses' original lens caps.

Is it possible to use this with a lens filter?

The use of a filter is unaffected by the lens hood.

I really like it
5/5

I have a Fujifilm vented lens hood that I like a lot, but I wanted to give this Haoge LH-100 a try. I have the X35 and I adore it. The fit and finish are excellent, and it's made of the same high-quality materials as my other Haoge square lens hoods. They're screwed up. however, on universal hoods, but this one is a dedicated bayonet-style hood. I prefer Fujifilm's XF35mm f2 and XF23mm f2 lenses, so I mounted a lens hood on them. br>br>The vented Fujifilm hood's only advantage is that it can be used on the X-T2 when it's hot. With the 23mm f2, the optical finder blocks less of the bottom right corner of the frame, and with the 35mm f2, it blocks none of the frame. The Haoge has the advantage of being more comfortable to hold, having a more attractive design, and having the option of a fitted metal lens cap. In addition, it costs $20 less than the Fujifilm version. Another benefit is that if you already have a Haoge lens cap, it will fit a variety of their hoods, including this one. Because I like to sit my camera and lens hood down, I prefer the way the hood flanges on the end. It's visible in the photos taken with the Fujifilm X-T1 attached. Pro2, as well as a comparison of the two. a side-by-side comparison with the Haoge 46mm hood (LH-LH-LH-LH-LH-LH-L B46T), which has a slightly thinner tip. This hood's design appeals to me more than the 46mm hood's. With both the 23mm f2 and the 35mm f2 Fujifilm lenses, the only disadvantage of this hood is that it blocks the very bottom right corner of the optical finder. If Haoge ever redesigns this, I'd suggest a cutout on that corner, similar to what some Leica lens hoods have. For any camera other than the X-T2, I'd recommend a cutout on that corner. It has no bearing on Pro2. br>br>Strongly suggested.

Meh
3/5

I liked the hood at first. The 23mm f2 lens has a peculiar appearance. It's conical, and the Haoge hood gives it a more Leica-like look. I'm not sure if Leica makes any hoods that look like this one, though. br>br>The hood itself appears to be well-machined, but some of the hood's components are excessively thick, making the hood feel heavier than it should. The hood clicks into place when installed, but it is a little loose. It squeaks, which irritates me tremendously. Although the included round hood rattles a little, the haoge hood rattles a lot more. br>br>The haoge attaches to the lens with a plastic base, which is advantageous because if you bump something into the hood, the hood should break first, rather than the lens. Haoge's use of plastic is a little dubious. The quality does not appear to be comparable to Fuji's. br>br>The hood also doesn't appear to protect the lens from flare or bumps any better than the round hood that came with it. Because it's so shallow and wide, I'm sure there'd be no vignetting even if it fit a 16mm Fuji. The hood's flatness gives it the appearance of a big square step-up ring. To put it another way, the only way to avoid a flare is if the light source is coming from behind. It's also more prone to catching on things due to its physical size. br>br>Writing this review has made me even more despised of the hood. hah. The hood appears cool at first, but it quickly loses its appeal once you realize how ineffective it is, especially when the lens already comes with one that is lighter, protects from flare and bumps just as well if not better, and is a genuine Fuji hood.

It's lovely and it's the right size
5/5

My Fujifilm XF35 and XF23 F2 lenses, like many others, are favorites of mine. However, I, like many others, despised the OEM lens hood (it works fine, but I prefer the look of vintage rangefinder cameras and lenses). In any case, the Haoge rectangular lens hood takes care of the problem. It's made of metal (rather than plastic like the Fuji OEM), fits snugly on the lens, works flawlessly, provides excellent lens protection, and gives the lens/camera a classic look. It appeals to me.

It's well-made, but it's a bit on the heavy side
3/5

It's well-made, fits well, functions well, and looks great on the camera when used with both the 35mm f2 and the 23mm f2 lenses. The stock lens cap is easy to obtain. Nonetheless. br>br> It's also a bit of a hunk of metal. It's made of cast and/or machined metal, some of which is quite thick. It's 25g in weight, compared to 7g for the hood that comes with it. Given that the lens weighs around 180g, the extra weight at the end of the lens is noticeable in your hands, especially on a lighter body like the X-T1. T20. It throws off the camera's balance. br>br>It also appears to be extremely durable, though this may be an overstatement. A hood can provide additional lens protection, but only if it bends or breaks to absorb an impact; you could probably hammer nails into this hood and it wouldn't give. A plastic or thin metal version would be much better for protection, weigh less, and cost less.

It's not going to work
5/5

It does not fit the Fujinon XF35mm F2, despite the fact that the product description claims that it does. I tried both of them after receiving a replacement from Amazon, but neither of them fit. There appears to be some inconsistency in the production quality. I'm going to try a different brand. br>br>7/11/2019 Update: br>I contacted the seller, who promptly sent me a replacement lens hood. This strategy is effective - finally! The hood is easy to install and looks great. For a really nice product and great customer service, I'm changing my one-star rating to five stars.

It's not as good as the lens's own hood
3/5

This hood doesn't provide any more shadow than the lens's small stock hood. It was weighed and measured. It's just a lot bigger, but also a lot wider, and it doesn't provide any additional benefits other than the fact that it's so big that you'll run into it. Use the stock hood to save a few bucks. It appears to be small, but it is much narrower than it appears, and it is ideal for the 23mm f/2 lens.

The hood is made of metal and has a great appearance
5/5

It's a significant improvement over the stock hood and. Fit my 35mm f/2 WR perfectly, and the lens hood has a premium appearance with a bayonet mount that snaps onto the lens perfectly. The hood is made of metal and has a great appearance. It's a great improvement over the stock hood and a great alternative to Fuji's optional vented hood. This purchase has left me with no regrets, and I will definitely consider purchasing more products from this company in the future.
