First and foremost, read! Although some reviews claim that this won't work on a slimline PS2, I can assure you that it will IF you follow these instructions. As with all previous reviews, I can confirm that when a PS1 game is inserted after being prompted, it works on the PS2. I'm glad I took the time to read the reviews on those instructions. My firsthand knowledge - I recently picked up Driver again and remembered how painful the training stage was. I got about four levels into the game after passing the test and deciding to save my progress. I couldn't because the slots were occupied by two PS2 memory cards. As a result, I came here and discovered this thug. I removed a PS2 card and reinstalled Driver, passing Training on the first try and being prompted to SAVE the game. So I inserted the card, and a box appeared on the screen that read "card not formatted. " After waiting 30 seconds, a new box appeared, asking if I wanted to format. I decided to go ahead with it. What's next? The game saved perfectly, and now I'm driving through restaurants and chasing L trains like I should. Of course, save the President while also winning the game! Then it's on to Driver 2, which I'll save on this card as well; just follow the instructions and everything should work fine.

I followed the instructions in the other reviews, which proved to be very useful. If you're trying to save a game, you should do the following: Turn on the game and play until you're ready to save; when the screen prompts you to insert a memory card, do so; you can leave the memory card in there for as long as you're playing the game. ) The procedure for loading a game is the same: Start the game as you normally would. Go to load, and when it asks for a memory card, insert it, then play the game. Simple instructions that always work. Side note: I didn't put the memory card in before turning on the game, and I didn't put it in when switching games. I'm guessing it'll read it as a PS2 memory card and try to reformat it, but other than that, it'll work if you just follow the steps. This memory card makes me extremely happy because it works and I don't have to play Crash Bash a million times to get it to work. After 11 years, I am finally able to complete the game. Once I get some more PS1 games, I'll order another memory card.
