Questions & Answers

Is there any way to tell if this will work with the new Mark II E-Machine?

Because the Mark II's shape has changed, this grip will not fit.

When attached to the Mark II, what is the total grip part width?

Only the fat part is screwed to the camera base; the bottom is left open to allow access to the battery and memory cards.

Is the tripod mount aligned with the center of the lens as a result of this?

No, it moves the tripod mount away from the lens by 1/2 inch.

Will this work with the dsc-rx1's first generation?

The RX1 isn't compatible with this.

This is a good alternative to Olympus' offering because of its metal construction and low price
4/5

This product is a good, less expensive alternative to the Olympus counterpart, with a solid metal construction and a good fit. The version I received seemed to have a little trouble drawing up to the camera body as you rotate the thumb wheel screw at first, but it worked out after the first couple of times. br>br>The one major feature difference between this 3rd party option and the one provided by the manufacturer is that this 3rd party option is not available in the United States. The video card battery compartment can be accessed without removing the grip in the Olympus version. The Olympus version includes a "quick release" option that adds about $20 to the item's price. In order to access the Fotodiox version, there is a void at the bottom. It's a little difficult to fully open the door due to the camera's design and the angle and depth of this void, and removing the SD card isn't easy because the spring loading doesn't completely eject it. br>br>For the beginner, the FULL METAL construction, combined with the cost savings, makes this item ideal. If you need to swap the SD card quickly due to a "working" situation, this isn't the best option because there's a chance you'll damage or lose the SD card or the compartment door.

Buy it! You'll be able to use it. I read the reviews for this Fotodix Black Camera Hand grip, just like everyone else, and tried to figure out which ones were accurate and which ones were not. I finally chose the positive side and ordered the grip, and now that it has arrived and been installed, I am completely satisfied. I quickly attached it, and it fits like a glove, as well as any accessory grip can, because it provides access to all of your camera's functions. My 12-year-old daughter is unaffected by the grip. My 45-mm and 40-mm Pro Lenses 200 zoom. I prefer to carry my cameras on my fingers with a wrist strap attached, and this grip perfectly extends the stock grip. This is a grip that you will not be sorry you purchased. I've included some photos to demonstrate how well it all fits together.

Alternative grip assembly of high quality
4/5

I'm always amazed at how small the gear made for m43s cameras is. I'm not sure why; I'm well aware of how insignificant the E-mail address is. M10 is; Catalogue photos, on the other hand, always make things appear larger in some way. They have more "presence" as a result of the photos. br>br>The Fotodiox pro grip for the E-Mount E-Mount E-Mount E-Mount E-Mount E- It's the same with M10. I was taken aback by the size of the box when I opened it. It is a perfect fit for my camera. The user does have easy access to the battery and media card port, as claimed. However, when it comes to audio and video, With the grip attached, there is also an HDMI port on the right side. I'm sure it adds an ounce or two to the camera's overall weight, but I can't tell. br>br>The grip assembly's base plate is designed to allow the articulated view screen to move freely while remaining flat when attached to the camera. Here you won't find any "wobblies. " br>br>Because the attachment screw uses the tripod mount socket located directly behind the lens, a second tripod mount is provided to the left. For the most part, this will not be a significant issue. However, if you plan on doing a lot of stitching to create panoramas, having the tripod pivot point directly behind the lens makes it easier to get photos to match up. As a result, those who enjoy taking panorama photos may wish to do so without the grip. br>br>However, the big question is whether or not it makes the camera easier to hold. And the answer is yes, especially when my favorite Legacy lens, the Olympus/Zuiko 14-42mm, is attached. I designed the 54 Mk for 4/3s DSLR cameras at the time. Those tele-marketing companies Because centric lenses are slightly larger and heavier than native m43s lenses, they are far more convenient to use. I'm not sure if a grip like this will help the smaller m43s kit lens all that much. It's small and light enough that camera movement caused by an overly heavy lens causing the assembly to become unbalanced isn't a big deal. br>br>I kind of wish the grip part was a little more. It would be a more comfortable grip if it were bulbous. However, the camera's size may work against it, and it would undoubtedly be more obtrusive. (If you want to sell a lot of them, they have to be attractive!) LOL! ) I believe that a larger, fatter grip would either cause the grip to be too close to the lens, leaving little room for your fingers between the lens and grip, or the grip would expand around the right side, potentially blocking access to the A/V - HDMI ports are available. Overall, I consider the current design to be a good balance of comfort and usability. I can't compare it to the Olympus grip because I've never used one. But I think I like the Fotodiox enough that I'm not interested in trying out the Oly grip. At the time of writing, the Fotodiox is also less expensive. It's difficult to argue with a well-designed product that is also less expensive.

In the end, it was a disappointment
3/5

The first three fingers of your right hand have more purchase with this grip. When shooting in landscape mode with longer, heavier lenses mounted on the front of the camera, this is a benefit. However, your pinky finger will remain dangling, and the additional gripping surface won't be as useful in portrait mode. This is due to the fact that the shutter release is still reached by arching your hand over the top of the camera. The mounting screw also has a tendency to loosen. You'll notice it loosening before the grip actually falls off, but it should stay in place unless you intentionally loosen it, and it's inconvenient to have to tighten it every now and then.

Ergonomics should be improved
4/5

For my OM-D, I needed a hand grip. D EM- 5 and, because I didn't need a battery holder or any other advanced features, I went with the Fotodiox model, which was very reasonably priced. br>br>For me, it was all about improved ergonomics, and the camera does indeed handle much better now. The fit is flawless and undetectable, i. e. When mounted, it does not appear to be an alien object. However, getting the right grip on the camera was initially difficult for me - It's hard to believe, but despite the fact that there's only one screw, it took some adjusting to get it to fit properly. I believe it was a problem with the screw not fitting perfectly into the tripod hole. br>br>I like how Fotodiox includes an extra tripod hole because the grip itself uses the original one. My only minor criticism of this grip is that it makes the camera significantly heavier. br>br> When this is mounted, I don't mind the camera's overall size being larger, but the added weight is noticeable, and I wish it was made partially of composite material rather than entirely of metal. But, overall, I'm pleased with this grip and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their camera's ergonomics.
