For months, I've been using these converters with a hyperdeck and an atem mini pro, and now the extreme, at least once a week, and I haven't noticed any latency. I haven't tested or measured anything, so it could very well be introducing. It has a latency of 04 milliseconds, but no visible result for the viewer.
No, this one does not come with a power supply; however, there was one on Amazon that did. I simply used a d-tap cable to construct my own.

I needed to remote the camera by 50' for the production system (Church Sanctuary), which is a little too far to trust HDMI with. I bought a high-end SDI cable as well as an off-the-shelf monitor. SDI to HDMI converter from a well-known brand. The image had banding and highly distorted colors after it had been installed. It couldn't be fixed with any adjustment, replugging, or reset. I returned the converter and bought this Blackmagic converter in its place. When I plugged it in, it worked flawlessly, with a clear and undistorted image. It was a good lesson. br>br>Please note that the box only contains this converter and no power supply, as stated in the other reviews. You'll need to include a USB port. On the converter end, a C-ended cable and a power supply are required. You may already have these, but if not, add them to your shopping list and the total cost. A to USB- My setup consists of a C cable and a low-cost 15W power supply.
You won't be able to use this until you obtain a specific power supply. I received this unit, and it's the first time I've ever ordered an electronic product that didn't come with a power supply. It's a pity they'd sell something like this without the necessary power supply. A USB C cable, as well as a USB power supply, will be required. You'd think that a company that cares about the integrity of its product would be pickier about the power supply it uses, but apparently not. It can convert between HD and SD formats. As expected, SDI video was converted to HDMI. This was used to convert a 1080P 60 HD video into a 720P 60 HD video. Two PTZ cameras' SDI video was converted to HDMI and fed into a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme switcher. Everything is in order. It didn't come with a power supply, so I used a small USB hub to power two of these and an HDMI to HD-SDI converter. SDI at 60 frames per second in 1080P.
This was not a success. I used a 5W and then a 15W power source to see what would happen. With neither, there is no signal. I'm coming back.
