Questions & Answers

What's the best way to put in a new light bulb?

The official Sony User Manual can be found here. Page 76- How to replace the bulb is explained on page 79. https: //docs. sony. KDFE55-KDFE55-KDFE55- KDFE55-KDFE55-KD 60A20. pdf

Is this compatible with a Sony wega kdf55e20a?

Yes, I did replace the lamp in my KDF-based system. Both the E60A20 WEGA and the E60A20 WEGA use the same lamp, according to the manual, it's simple to install, and it's been working since November 2014. Having said that, I went ahead and bought the one with the original Phillips housing and UHP bulb.

Sony Grand Wega is a perfect replacement
5/5

In 2018, I replaced my TV lamp once, but the difference was minimal. The end result is spectacular this time. The brightness and color have been restored to what I believe was the condition when I purchased it in 2006. I even went to see how much better some of the night scenes could be in the Game of Thrones Long Night episode. I'm not sure how long this will last, but I'm hoping for at least a few years.

The lamp gets five stars, while the case gets one
3/5

Inside the box, the lamp case's two small closing tabs were broken. I'm not sure what caused the breakage because the plastic packaging wrap around the lamp case appeared to be intact. The lamp case could not be closed tightly due to the broken tab, causing the lamp face side to move forward slightly. Fortunately, because the lamp is inserted into the TV in such a way that the lamp face side of the case is pushed inward, I don't believe it will move once it is in place. In addition, the original lamp that I removed from the TV appears to be much more durable than this replacement lamp. br>br>The lamp itself is fine, and it has rescued my ten-year-old television from the "dark side. ".

I would recommend the Sony and am very pleased with it; we have a 10-year-old son
5/5

year- I replaced the bulb in my old Sony WEGA TV twice, once at 5 years and again at 10 years, both times with a Sony bulb. The 5- The year needed to be replaced due to a lack of funds - The image had dimmed to the point where it was difficult to see. The 10- The year replacement was also for a slight dimming, as well as to address a few other issues we'd noticed. While this recent replacement did not resolve all of the current issues (small blue spots and a faint blue-green tint), it did help to alleviate some of them. I would recommend the Sony and am very pleased with the product; the picture is noticeably brighter and clearer after replacing the bulb. Personally, I would not choose a knock-off. I'm not going to use it because I know how long Sonys last and how well they work.

I bought an OEM Sony replacement lamp the first two times and was very happy with its performance and durability
3/5

This is the third time I've had to replace the lamp in my Sony 55" 3LCD television. I bought an OEM Sony replacement lamp the first two times and was very happy with its performance and durability. Simply because of the price, I decided to try something new this time and bought this lamp. I won't go into detail about the housing's physical construction other than to say that it isn't up to OEM standards. This lamp at 50% output brightness setting is performing like the lamp it replaces - fit was not an issue but one big problem is this lamp at 50% output brightness setting is performing like a four-year-old lamp with an 85-lumen output! A brand new lamp would be expected to be very bright, but this is not the case. To get the brightness to an acceptable level, I'll have to increase the output, but this will shorten the life of the device. I now fully comprehend previous customers' claims that this product has a high rate of premature failures. I'm going to burn this lamp in, then turn it up to maximum brightness and cross my fingers. It will be a miracle if I get three years or more out of this lamp.

The money was well spent
5/5

After purchasing a generic replacement lamp that failed miserably, I am grateful for the purchase of this genuine Sony lamp. It came with the one and only tool I needed for my Sony KDF-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX A 3mm allen wrench, model E55A20. You'll need to consult your user manual or visit the Sony website for simple instructions on how to set up the lamp. It took me less than 10 minutes to complete the task, and my television screen now looks brand new! This lamp will be well worth the money spent if it lasts even half as long as the first one did.

The picture quality appears to be adequate; however, due to the device's limited lifespan, it only receives three stars
3/5

Before I heard the bulb implode, it had been on for a little over a year. I suppose it's worth it for the price. I don't mind changing the bulb every year to two years because my Sony television is old. It takes under 5 minutes to replace the part. The picture quality appears to be satisfactory; however, the bulb's short lifespan earns it three stars.

In the movie Hustle, an old man in a music store says something similar
3/5

& This was definately not of the highest caliber. When I installed this bulb after cleaning out the TV, it didn't work; upon closer inspection, I discovered that they cut SO MANY corners in the manufacturing of this bulb (probably a huge waste of resources overall). However, I suppose you get what you pay for (good [working] bulbs typically cost $100). The bulb's manufacturer simply soldered the cable to the back of the bulb (almost begging for the product to be returned to the seller), but mine was torn, so I had no choice but to. If you look at the higher-end bulbs made by a well-known brand, you'll notice that the bulb is attached to the cord via the ( not simply soldered in a shoddy manner). TLDR customers who are reading this review should be aware of the following information. Make the most of your time. It is not cost effective to purchase this low-cost bulb; instead, purchase the $100 bulb.

We're glad we took the initiative to make something ourselves: The housing for the TV replacement lamp was included
5/5

Years ago, I gave my mother the 55-inch television. Nieces and nephews frequently watch and play with this set. When the symptoms persisted, I looked up what to do on the internet and discovered that they were caused by the lamp. After doing some research, I made the decision to give it a shot. It arrived on time and was as simple to install as a standard light bulb. You'll also find a couple of useful videos if you search YouTube! The image quality is the same as it was when it was first released ten years ago. Happy New Year:.
