By removing your old lamp and installing it into your TV, you will find it is quite straightforward. Make sure the connection to the connector is good. Put the system in the garage and turn the TV off.

The rear-projection TV should undergo testing before we are able to install a new lamp. It is recommended that using tools or cleaners is used when your rear projectionion TV's lamp interface is dark or dusty. Before a new lamp can be installed, the connector should be cleaned. If you are plugging in a TV, you need to know that the new lamp will need to be installed correctly in the proper position and that it will need to be covered.

A replacement lamp for the Mitsubishi Dlp could be this

During the first 15 seconds of the lamp's operation, it began to flicker and to flash colors. was the Japanese Certified Technician I retired from and I have witnessed this before on an item that isn't certified by the Japanese. As it's shaped like an unattractive black wheel, isn't that because it couldn't operate in a dlp that well.

It's really not such a problem, but it still isn't perfect

The OEM-looking parts can be found at some junk stores for cheap. Once it goes on for a short while, it flickers a bit. I think it's as if the color wheel is going out. When I removed my OEM lamp and replaced with a new one it worked as expected after installation. Although the power goes out for a few minutes, the TV still shows that it's a hard lamp failure.

It is a bad idea to buy anything

It failed twice, then the universe was blown apart. Make sure you purchase the genuine OEM model. Having learned my lesson.
