Questions & Answers

To the Mitsubishi tv model 73640, I only require the bulb, not the entire house?

It didn't work with my television, and I'm not sure why housing is mentioned. I only received a bulb.

What is the procedure for changing the bulb in a wd-type lamp? 73640 What do you have to dismantle in order to get to it? It was a brand new purchase in 2011. ?

A plate to remove can be found in the back of the television. Mine is in the middle of the screen, near the bottom. You just need to find it because it may fit a variety of other televisions. The bulb will be visible once the two screws are removed and the cover is removed. It has a grab handle, just like the new one. I believe there were a couple of screws to remove on the bulb as well, but it's not difficult, and then it just pills out. When reinstalling it, simply slide it into the channel until it pushes ez. There is no need to disconnect the wire because it simply slides into the slot and works perfectly as long as it is in the channel. It's not difficult; you can complete it quickly if you take your time the first time. I hope you find this information useful.

When a light bulb burns out after two months, how do you use the warranty?

I had no idea that a warranty existed or how to use it.

For both of my televisions, I purchased two bulbs. 73640 and 73642 are two of the most common phone numbers in the United States. They were both packaged together, with no way of distinguishing between them. I'm not sure how I'm going to tell the difference. ?

Try focusing your attention on the light bulb. The bulb's model number will be printed on it.

In just three weeks, it had lost the majority of its radiance
3/5

Edit: One star has been deducted. The bulb had lost 90 of its brightness after 3 weeks of use. It was probably due to the odor the bulb gave off for the first week. br>br>In my 73" set, I've added a few bulbs. The original bulb had lasted far beyond its rated hours and was still functional, albeit dimly. It was like a new television again after I replaced it with an official, expensive factory replacement. br>br>After nearly two years of heavy use, the light was beginning to dim. I came across this bulb and decided it was worth a shot for under $20. br>br>First and foremost, it arrived in the same box as the factory replacement bulb, with the same wrapping inside. The only difference I could see between the two was that his bulb came with flathead thumbscrews instead of phillips head thumbscrews (which, by the way, are terrible). It's nearly impossible to get your fingers into the area where the thumbscrews are to be installed, and a flathead screw won't sit on a screwdriver and be inserted that way either. br>br>It's very easy to remove and install. I removed the two screws and the small plastic panel covering the bulb (on the back of the tv on the left side at the bottom), then removed the two screws holding the bulb, slid the old out and the new in, and reversed the process. Before installing the new bulb, I vacuumed and blew out some dust from the bulb area. Wear rubber gloves and avoid touching or laying the bulb where it will touch and pick up anything. If you touch the bulb (anything other than the black plastic), the transfer of oils from your finger to the bulb will cause it to blow immediately or within a short time. br>br>The new bulb had a charred smell to it. electronics for about 30 minutes, which the first and second replacements failed to do. There's a residue here. br>br>Anyway, it looked and fit exactly like the original and factory replacement, so save the thumb screws from the original bulb and throw away the flathead versions unless you have tiny fingers or one of those bit heads that can hold a flat head screw securely while you put it in. br>br>I'll let you know if the bulb lasts a long time or if I have any other problems with it. But, at this price and considering how simple it is to replace, I'll be happy unless it breaks in less than 6 months. If there are no more reports, it is safe to assume that it lasted as long as it could. I believe those who had the bulb pop or not last long did so by touching it with their fingers or resting it on something.

There will be no more high-priced TV repairmen replacing my lamp! I've previously blown out a lamp and had to wait a few months to save up enough money to pay a TV repairman $400 to replace it
5/5

Now fast forward two years, and the lamp has blown out once more. My son, on the other hand, suggested that I look up how to install it myself on YouTube. After seeing how simple it was to install, I felt like a fool for paying someone $400 to replace it, so imagine my delight when I discovered this lamp on Amazon for $20. The lamp arrived today after I ordered it yesterday. I did it myself, and I'm not the most handy person in the world. It took me no more than 5 minutes to set up. We've plugged the TV back in and are ready to watch TV again. I'm not sure how long it will last, but it was a lifesaver for me, and I'm going to buy two more to keep in stock for next time; the picture is fantastic, and I've had no problems with it. I'll update my review once it's released, but at this price, I'm going to buy it again.

) and this appeared to be an interesting unit to investigate
4/5

After many years, the lamp in my Mitsubishi 73" rear projector TV finally blew. I started putting together replacements (some of which they are quite proud of!). ) and this seemed like a good unit to try based on previous reviews and a reasonable price (cheap enough to try, and I wouldn't have been disappointed if it didn't work). br>br>Shipping was extremely fast (gotta love Prime! ), and the lamp was extremely well packaged (both equipment packaging and Amazon's portion of the packaging), and installation was extremely simple (I believe 4 screws and less than 5 minutes, including pulling the TV out and sliding it back into place), and the lamp has been working flawlessly for several months. The only minor issue I've noticed is that this lamp appears to take longer to warm up than the factory unit did, not by a significant amount of time, but by a significant amount of time. br>br>I intend to purchase one or two more to keep as spares in case they are needed (the original lasted about 5 years!). )br>br>If I remember, I'll post an update when this lamp dies, so that others can compare its cost to its expected lifespan and make a better decision!.

This bulb is good value for money
5/5

You must keep this in mind as you proceed. These bulbs have a shelf life of about a year. Also, if you're looking for a Mitsubishi dlp television, keep this in mind. These televisions are like vacuum cleaners for dust. Wipe away the dust after removing the old bulb. Also, shine a light inside and wipe the glass the bulb shines on clean with a soft cloth. It's just a square of glass about an inch squared. I've purchased three so far, one per year, and they've all been excellent. When dark movie scenes become difficult to see, you'll know it's time to replace. So I think $20 a year for a bulb is a good deal.

I honestly believe that the majority of the negative reviews on this bulb set are from competitors
5/5

The "thumb screws" found that installing the bulb/housing was actually easier than using the factory hex head/phillips combo. Due to how well this bulb works compared to the one I paid 4x more for 2 years ago, I had to "turn down" the brightness on the television. I did purchase the 4-year warranty in case the bulb's longevity falls short, but when compared to the "Mitz" branded bulb I previously used, this one restored the factory look in the picture from when the set was new.

Junk! Don't be a slacker!! Only stay for three months at a time!! I purchased one in January of this year, had to purchase another in March of this year, and now it is being phased out! Having to go out and buy ANOTHER ONE! This time, I'm going with a different company! Exclusive Bulbs replaced the bulb, and IT HAS BEEN OUT SINCE TODAY! If at all possible, on Thanksgiving Day! Instead of shipping the replacement bulb overnight, it took them a week to send it!
