I'm not sure what the dimensions of the item you're talking about are, but This tripod is very sturdy, and once properly secured, it will not move. Make sure to include the pads for under the feet in your order. They're sticky, so they'll keep the mounting screws from leaking. My tripod (which I used to mount a weather station on the peak of my roof) held up well in the face of high winds, rain, and hail. ), hasn't moved a muscle.

At the moment, I'm using it at ground level to support a 10'6" galvanized mast on which I'm mounting an amateur radio 2 meter J-pole. Attached is a pole antenna. To keep the tripod from tipping over, I've attached a 16-pound concrete paver to each foot. This device is not only sturdy, but also lightweight. As a renter, this is a cost-effective and dependable method of getting on the air without having to leave the house.
The only thing that hasn't been mentioned in any of the reviews is that the tripod sits at an angle, and there's nothing you can do about it. You've got a problem if you want your antenna to point straight ahead like I did. I'll just get some longer screws to adjust the 5' mast I ordered because the one that came with it, in the same shipment, was too short; as I mentioned, it's heavy duty, easily mounts to the roof, doesn't come with pitch pads or screws, but it does the job. Only four stars because it sits at an angle rather than straight up and down.
This is a well-made, heavy-duty item. When compared to other products, it is an excellent value. It will be equipped with a helix antenna for amateur radio satellite communication. It will serve me well. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's a high-quality tripod with a mast that's ideal for my needs.
This turned out to be a lot more robust than I expected. Heavy materials that did exactly what I needed them to do. When you're out in the boonies, you can use it to support a portable radio repeater antenna.
We got rid of our cable TV and replaced it with Amazon Firesticks, Amazon FireTV, and an antennae. Our antennae (the Dual Quad Bay Outdoor HDTV/DTV/UHF Bowtie) were held in place by this tripod, which stayed firmly on the roof throughout Hurricane Irma. When our internet went out at 2 a. m. , I was still able to watch TV because the hurricane was approaching. My neighbors, who also have antennae, did not fare as well.
We needed a sturdy and stable mount to move a WAN WiFi receiver from a dormer roof to the peak in preparation for installing solar panels on a nearby garage, which would have blocked the receiver otherwise. It's made even more difficult by the fact that we have a fairly steep learning curve. metal roof with a pitch With the L-bracket, it appears that this tripod mount was made for the job. With one leg on one side of the roof and two legs on the other, the feet can rotate to lay flat against the slope. I was concerned that I would have to bend the feet to fit the roof, but this was not necessary. br>br>The mount's construction is sturdy, and the brass nuts in the middle and top make leveling the post a breeze once it's in place. Because the post is steel, I was able to use a small magnetic bullet level to get it perfectly vertical; it was a little fiddly, but not too difficult. To begin, you may require the use of a wrench to loosen them slightly. br>br>If you're going to install it permanently, like I did, you'll need mounting bolts, and we wanted some protection and sealing in our case. As a result, I ordered the 'Ambient Weather EZ-Pack' as well. Three tar pads and six appropriately sized lag screws are included in the '3 Tar Pad Kit for Roof Tripod Installation', which goes between the tripod legs and the roof. It took me about 30 minutes to put everything together, and it appears to be very sturdy.
My copy had a flaw in the factory assembly. When the legs were spread out, the upper collar through which the vertical pole slides was out of alignment with the bottom collar, preventing the entire assembly from sitting at a 90-degree angle and being properly secured. Despite the fact that the issue was a factory defect, I returned this item and received only a partial refund; I would recommend that you shop elsewhere.
My old tripod's leg had rusted completely through and needed to be replaced. This is a fantastic product, with about as thick and sturdy a build as you could hope for. Keep in mind two things for which I had not planned: It does come with a mast, but it is just as short as it appears in the picture. Second, while I was aware that this tripod could handle a 2" mast, I planned on using a 1 1/4" standard antenna diameter mast instead, and assumed that the supplied hardware could handle it. This is not the case. The 6 bolts are 1" long, which is ideal for a 2" diameter mast but insufficient for the smaller diameter. My problem was solved when I went to the hardware store and purchased 1 1/2" stainless steel bolts. It's now completely stable, and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
