This was not cheap brittle plastic like most wall plate openings, so I was happy that I would be able to maneuver it into place even if it was a little rough. As I installed my system in 1" thick old plaster behind a flat screen TV, I had about a dozen shielded CLG jacketed wires, so I could not cut corners on channel plates for the walls. The bend doesn't have the same degree of flexibility as a straight wall, but it hides the dark cavity well. As a back up, you can always use extra foam to stuff any gaps if you are paranoid about insects and rodents. This is not possible with most flat to the wall plates.

I would recommend these wall plates if you have a lot of wires or very few wires to hide. As a result of the size of the opening, I could only pass three HDMI cables through it. There was a big size difference between the end connectors on my wire, so if I wanted to pass another wiring through the wall plates later, it could be difficult or impossible to do. In order to open either from top or bottom, I purchased the Wallplate. If you want an opening on the sides, it may be better to buy that. The plate itself is a strong wall plate, but make sure you keep in mind that the opening may be an issue.

As a result, I had to run a second power strip cord up the inside of the wall and isolate the power feed for the Fire I have solved the problem! There was no easy way to accomplish this! As I removed the wall plate closest to the floor, I fed the power strip cord through the top wall plate, reached inside the wall hole, grabbed the cord, and fed it through the bottom wall plate. The bottom wall plate then was reattached to the wall hole. That's it! Boom! That's a BRILLIANT design, isn't it? A simple way to feed cables through my attic wall and make the system appear professional as well as to make it easy to operate. Even though it is a good product, (without fault on its part), it didn't meet my requirements. My hope was that I would be able to run 8 video/power Siamese cables, 1 Ethernet cable, and 1 audio cable to my DVR through the penetration opening, and have a little room remaining in case another cable was needed. Neither this pass nor its author was to blame My install objective was not achieved due to an issue with the through plate. I took longer to move the furniture so that I could install these than it did for me to install them. It is slim at the back, but I was able to pass a 2 prong power cable through and make my bedroom tv installation look cleaner this way.
