Those screws are awful. However, the plates are undersized and don't look as sharp as they should. In some cases, the screws won't cover the hole left by a drywall guy zipping around the job site with a cut out tool
The main issue I have is with the screw heads. I'm just at a loss for words. The garbage of the world. While I haven't experienced any breaks, they are covered in flakes of paint that will flakes off as you look at them. The paint is so bad on these screws that almost always, even before the screw makes contact with the plate, it flakes off at the edge. The Phillips slot is the easiest to remove, but I also find that it flakes off at the outer edge of the screw itself. The process of how that happens is not clear. Then, to top it all off, they didn't even bother to make the flaky coat of paint match the white of the plate. There's just no way to explain how horrible it looks. If they are all silver screws, I may just replace them all. I'm a little disappointed. The plates get 4 out of 5 stars. I gave the screws one star. So I guess 5 stars for the price works out to 3 stars in the end?.
Despite its simple and efficient design, the plate itself is attractive. It also appears that the screws are wrapped in aluminum foil. I learned the hard way that screwing into plastic boxes is OK, but I had several instances of breaks before I just switched to sheetmetal screws on.
The CAT6 keystones from Cable Matters worked well with this system. In addition to my keystone jacks already mentioned, my receptacle covers also matched perfectly with the white color. Please take note Due to the smaller size of keystone wall plates in comparison to standard receptacle plates, drywall wall cutouts around the gang boxes will not be as messy.
These come with a 2, good product. This is an 8" wide band. In the home where I was replacing the plates, I found Eaton plates, which may be adequate for most standard applications. There is about a quarter inch difference between the Eaton plates I was replacing. If you put these covers over an opening that used to have a larger plate in it, they won't look as good as they should. I do not mean to diminish the quality of this product, which is very good. I mean something you may not think about until after the installation is complete. There is nothing I can fault about this product. Plates are well made and the hole for the keystones is perfectly centered. However, when I purchased blanks for keystones from Cable Matters, the plastic they used on the inserts did not exactly match the color of the A close, but careful observation will make the difference between the materials and colors apparent. it is nothing to worry about, just be aware of it.
There's an issue with their communications Generally speaking, white or almond is closest to white. There is no problem with them, except that they are not white. I bought the matching WHITE wallplate blank inserts for them instead. WHITE are the blanks and OFF WHITE are the wallplates. Despite the fact that they're supposed to match, they don't. As a result, I'm going to have an ugly finished product. I'm not going to purchase from another company that can't match their product colors.
My favorite part about this system is that it isn't a two-part system. I have tried other systems that are essentially a section that connects to the jacks and a cover, and honestly I find it a waste of space to do it so! Despite the downside, I would say that the keystones that I installed do fit, but they have a hard time snapping in.
I rated these plates as okay for the price, which is pretty good. What struggled me was getting the keystones into the slots on the back, which took me more time than I intended. In the past, I have installed thousands of these (we usually purchase Leviton locally) without experiencing this issue. There seems to be just a little bit of space left in the square for the jack to fit in. After trying several times to install the key stones, I ended up scratching a number of them. The outside texture feels a little different, but other than that they work just fine. The glossy enamel looks a lot like other plates, but it doesn't stick to the fingers like some The fact that they are significantly less expensive than popular brands will undoubtedly lead me to buy them again, but only if my local distributor is no longer able to supply them.
During the framing process, I had to run 20 wires through my house and I had to install 20 plates. I found keystone jacks very easy to install, and they mounted on the wall without any issues. I really like this product and the price is great.
