The HD Modulator works by changing the picture size The picture looks HD, but is it The antenna system in my home is a master antenna
3/5

Having professional amplifiers on hand to amplify signals for distribution is essential. I have balanced the ports on my antennas so that I receive a good signal on In addition to the Minimod, I purchased the following I use channel 2 to control secondary televisions in my home with the HD signal from my DirecTV satellite receiver. There are also secondary TVs where the TV is smaller, thus not in high demand like the TV in our den or our home theater, or TVs in places like our study or our exercise room. In order to fulfill these requirements I believed that 2, especially since I did not want to continue supporting AT&T, would provide the best solution to this problem They are paying more and more for DirecTV every year. The fact that we did not have multiple DirecTV receivers saved us some money each With our whole house audio system, we already have IR repeaters installed in nearly every room, so you can control remote devices like the DirecTV receiver with these repeaters.

The system worked perfectly on a fundamental level. In the past, I had a low-resolution modulator that I retired years ago, but most importantly, this modulator was linked to an injection point in my master antenna. It was the picture quality that disappointed me. The difference between the direct HDMI and this is quite noticeable. Digital is digital I thought, but I guess somewhere things get turned into analog. The picture even looks like it is out of focus, like a computer generated TV picture. Taking the best HDMI cable that I could find as a precaution, I believed that it was the HDMI cable that caused the trouble. There was no difference when the new cable was installed. This was also true when I connected the modulator directly to a television, and I still saw the same picture quality. It isn't as good as HDMI directly from the DirecTV receiver, but nevertheless it is still much better than the quality of HDMI indirectly. I would use HDMI over CAT6 to run to each of my TVs if I had another alternative in my already wired house and forget about HDMI over CAT6 would significantly improve performance if installed in a new installation. However, HDMI over CAT6 would not be practical if there are 10's to 100's of TVs. Prewired with CAT6, HDMI over CAT6 might be a better choice in a new home installed with CAT6. A new modulator might yield a better picture in the future.

It does exactly what it says! Thank you for your product

I am quite happy with it. I have updated The MINIMOD's balance seemed off to me when I tried to adjust it I have a 2 output for OTA channels so that all 5 TVs in my RV can receive them. I had trouble installing MIDIMOD because I tried installing it on an old computer I have 2 satellite dishes in the back of my RV next to my computer, and the boosted OTA feed is in the front. There were no MINIMOD channels capable of receiving the OTA channels near the front of the TVs This is a 2 channel system. Minimod will be installed on the TVs at the back The OTA channels are on 2 channel, but not on the other Channels could be received from both sources by a TV situated in the center of an RV. This is obviously the case. There is no fault on the MINIMOD's part - Upon installing the MINIMOD, I received the following By connecting coax 2 up front at the same injection point as the OTA feed, I was able to get everything working correctly. One thing I did not think of is that the OTA stations' signal strength will change whenever the RV moves to a new campground, meaning that the OTA feed will need I am fortunate that my OTA antenna signal booster has adjustable GAIN and SLOPE dials, which makes it rather simple to balance everything with the MINIMOD-style settings. A GAIN feature is also available on the 2 as well. To feed the MINIMOD-end of the network I had to bring the NUC computer to the front. Also, I had to do 2 too, which I wish I hadn't had to do, but it's really nothing to worry about. In other words, so. Even after all this time, I'm still a happiest THIS IS THE END OF THE UPDATE. Currently, VECOAX MINIMOD- is not available I have just played with the Oculus Rift 2 for the last few hours, but I have to say that I am very happy with it so far. Upon unboxing it, I left it in its default setup (US cable TV output), then connected it to a TV in my RV with coax, and finally connected the Internet to it. I plugged in the power adapter and set up the TV to see if there were any new cable channels. The MINIMOD output could not be found. Because I intend to use it on an OTA channel anyhow (so I can mix it with local TV channels for use in my RV, which requires no cable while going down the road, lol), I didn't bother troubleshooting that. It is a possible problem, but I will troubleshoot it As far as cables are concerned, I am sure that I can get it to work if I ever need it. As far as I can tell, this is an attenuation issue. Then I did a MINIMOD-type of search In the ATSC menu, you can use the default channel and frequency when setting up ATSC modulation. Afterwards, I scanned the TV again for OTA channels and, this time, the MINIMOD-TV showed up There is a channel 2 on the internet. A test video image of the unit was displayed Next, I tested the OTA channels on my TV by reconnecting the amplified roof antenna coax to the RF input of the unit. During inspection, it found 14 problems with the unit. There was only one default channel, but no OTA broadcast channels were detected. My next step was to adjust the attenuation in the unit's menu to 20 decibels. The television then rescanned itself, and only 5 of the 50 or so OTA channels that I can obtain from a city about 50 miles away were displayed.
Now that I understand what that OTA broadcast issue was all about, I feel confident that I can resolve it later and regain most of the channels I had previously lost. Later I can connect my HackRF One SDR to measure the signal levels of everything to assist in resolving this issue. Afterward, I configured my NUC computer to output a fixed resolution of 1920x1080p, which I did by switching it from 5 inches. Stream stereo audio from channel 1 to channel 2. After that, I connected the HDMI output of the NUC computer to the MINIMOD-equipped PC The Presto-based software engine It appeared that my computer screen was on the TV. All around the perimeter of the screen, about 20 pixels have been removed. Of course, that was the TV's fault and it was quickly corrected with a quick change to the TV's default overscan Networking has been enabled on my NUC computer. My Synology NAS servers that I carry in my RV convert videos from my Synology NAS to VLC on the device. There are several DVDs and Blu-rays that I have ripped It's time to watch some blu ray movies. Video output from DVD appeared almost identical to video output from direct video. There are 35 GB of content on this Blu-ray The Blu-ray movies I played made the same compression artifacts that one sees on cable and on the internet The Blu-ray I would like to watch a few Blu-ray movies). Nevertheless, any artifacting that might appear on screen is usually only an issue when watching movies at home on a very large Certainly, in my RV I can live with it, since the overall effect is similar to what satellite or cable TV would have on The high quality video on cable and satellite TV is what I will tolerate on a big screen at home, but I will not accept the artifacts. Cable is not even close to the digital television broadcasts over OTA. In addition, I am not a fan of the poor quality of Internet steamed videos. The first choice for me is simply to buy the movies and shows I want to watch on DVD or Blu-ray Generally, I rip blu-ray (and DVD) discs to my NAS servers so that they are accessible instantly and can be viewed on any device I plan to take them all on vacation in my RV when I travel We are on the road 8 months out of the The unit is quite good in this regard, so I am happy with it. Although I would have preferred it to be as good as regular digital television broadcasts, I realize the video file is not being directly broadcast, but rather to be resampled from the HDMI output again. Low latency was used to run my tests as well. In the top In the - The televisions I have throughout my RV are all line-of-sight TVs). It allows me to watch movies anywhere - indoors or outdoors - on any TV, although even when I'm moving, all of the TVs remain in sync (or as close as digital TV gets to sync). Before purchasing this new one, my NUC could only output to the TV hooked up to it. A side note BTW, I also have an HDHomerun Extended tuner hooked up to my RV's No matter how I manage to get all of the OTA channels to play on one coax, it will still be fine. As usual, I will use my NUC & PC I use VLC to watch movies as well as watch TV through the HDHomerun tuner, to which I have for viewing TV directly. This eliminates the need to combine any OTA broadcasts with the MINIMOD. There are 2 outputs. Furthermore, keeping the antenna isolated is also desirable because I am adding MoCA networking to my coax as part of part two of this project, and I do not want any of it to transmit from If I keep working on the RV project I am working on, I might add additional details. It'll be interesting to see whether or not I insert this MODULE- I'm thinking of connecting the 2 outputs into a campground's cable TV coax if suddenly everyone in the campground is able to view my movies as well, To make my channel stand out I'll name it RVHDTV. You might be able to spot it at campgrounds across America where I am staying.

A major improvement in the picture! Buying this in 2017 for use in my RV is where I got it
5/5

The connections were established using coax cable and they worked well until I had to upgrade to a Hi Definition (HD) receiver after DTV decided to stop broadcasting their SD programming. There is only HDMI or component video output on the new HD receiver, and I have a coax setup. My RF modulator from the 80's was still running, so I was able to make use of it It had a component in and coax out, but the image quality was significantly reduced. I am astounded by the quality of the picture with this Minimod 2 as it replaces the RF modulator. In my case, since I couldn't connect the unit directly to a TV because of the way the TVs were set up, I called the tech support number, and Keith told me to skip that part and just A man gave me a few tips about what to do if a channel couldn't be detected by the TV. While it took a while, and I had to set up each TV individually, I was eventually able to get them all to operate on the same channel. You won't find them in your traditional home TV Their main target market is the RV industry A Jensen and a Furrion. It is a great unit, so if you are considering it, I would recommend It is an investment you will not regret.
