Questions & Answers

Is it possible to watch a DVD on a coaxial input TV using this device and an RCA cable?

Yes, you certainly can. As long as the DVD player has an RCA (Red-Color-Video-Audio) input, you're good to go. This will convert the white-yellow) outputs to a coax cable for your TV.

Will this work as an adapter if I just received a TV fox antenna with only a coax cable and my new television does not have a coax input?

A built-in over-the-air tuner is not available on some new televisions. the- If your new TV doesn't have a coax input, it's more likely to be a "monitor" rather than a "TV." Another suggestion was to tune OTA channels with an external tuner, which would connect to your TV via a non-proprietary connection. coax (yellow/red/white or yellow/red/black), or possibly HDMI for HD viewing. Alternatively, replace the TV with one that has a tuner.

the rf- Although the modulator product has stereo audio inputs, does it also output a mts stereo signal (on channel 4) over coax? 3) ?

Yes. The stereo signal will be broadcast on channels 3 and 4.

I have a question: I have a television with hdmi and RCA inputs, but my cable provider only has a coax plug. Will this work to watch it on my television?

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. I needed to see if hdmi cable to RCA adapters were still available, which they were. You should be fine if you use this cable. I hope that this information is useful.

Your RCA TV from the 1970s can now be upgraded with a DVD player
5/5

My brother has put in a lot of effort to create a fantastic living room in the style of the 1970s. He's captured the atmosphere with everything from a rotary phone to a shag carpet! It's fantastic, in my opinion - My den is stuck in the same era as my house, but not because I'm a fashionista, but because it's old! It's entertaining and relaxing, which I appreciate in these trying times. This converter was my small contribution to that project, and it was wonderful to be able to watch it all come together.

It really works
5/5

However, there is no HD with this connection. Only an antenna input is available on one of my "old CRT TVs. " I recently went to DISH and discovered that there is no way to connect this TV to it (there is no HDMI port or other input). This adapter converts the output of a Dish device (DV2 - R W Y) into a signal that can be used as an antenna input on a television. It really works. However, there is no HD with this connection. It's not digital, but analog.

Works well with both an older television and a modern cable box
5/5

The effectiveness of this was a pleasant surprise to me. I connected this to my 1978 TV and a new Spectrum cable box, and voila, cable TV was broadcast on my old TV. My 2019 Spectrum cable box wouldn't work with my 1978 TV before this modulator because the 2019 cable box didn't have coax out and my 1978 TV only had an antenna-only input. I spoke with four Spectrum representatives over the course of six months, all of whom told me that my old TV was toast, and then I watched Carolyn K demonstrate how to use a modulator with an analog TV on Youtube. The 1978 television now works perfectly thanks to this $15 modulator. br>I considered purchasing a digital to analog converter as well as an antenna, but that would have been more expensive- I'm not sure how long a 42-year-old television will last, and this cable box is currently included in a package deal. ).

It's a fantastic deal! I used this to convert the RCA outs on my tivo to coax so that I could watch it through my television's PIP (picture in picture) feature
4/5

So, while I'm using PS4 on HDMI (big picture), I have a small box playing what's on my Tivo, which I can also listen to. This was the workaround because most TVs only support a coax feed for the second PIP picture for some reason. It's not HD, but it doesn't have to be; it's 16:9 anyway. That's a great aspect ratio of 9! br>br>This thing is very solid and has a high-end feel to it. There are only a few minor drawbacks for me: The audio has a slight hum to it. br>br> I'm guessing it's some kind of ground loop. They should have anticipated this and built in some extra circuits to account for it. It also has a standard wall plug for power. I believe that if it was powered by USB, the ground loop hum would be eliminated. To be honest, it isn't all that bad, at least in my experience. br>br>Overall, I am extremely pleased with this product and would strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to use PIP or simply needs some RCAs converted to coax for whatever reason.

Definitely went above and beyond my expectations! I'd unpacked this RF modulator and set it on my desk for a "future" installation after receiving it a few weeks ago, but an email request for a product review prompted me to connect it today just to see if it works
5/5

After the hard drive failed on our legacy ViP722 Dish receiver a few years ago, I had to replace it with a "Hopper" and one "Joey," and we couldn't watch TV in either our FROG or study/computer room from the receiver's secondary analog RF output via the RG-80. Over 30 years ago, I installed 59U cables throughout our house while it was being built. While the new Dish system uses an advanced digital signal between the Hopper "base unit" and individual Joey units to provide a true HD signal to the TV where the Joey is located, it also eliminates the ability to watch TVs without a dedicated Joey. Even with an old duplex signal splitter to distribute the signal to both the FROG and the study/computer room, this RF modulator works much better than I'd hoped on both an old Zenith CRT TV in the FROG and a 32" 720p HD LED unit in the study/computer room. I'm not sure how long this RF modulator unit will last because it has its own plug-in. After evaluating it critically on both TV sets over the course of a few hours while reconfiguring the settings on each of them appropriately, I'm completely amazed at how great the video and audio is given the fact that the signal source is the analog signal outputs via the RCA connections on the back of our Dish Hopper unit (though I'm thinking that this feature really helps with the output signal strength it can provide), but after assessing it critically on both TV sets over the course of a few hours while reconfiguring the settings on I'll be able to watch football games while working upstairs on my computer - or, more than likely, when working in a separate garage behind the house with a high-powered drill. RG-certified grade 6 quad- When I finish the related conduit and cable installation, I'll make the shield connection!.

It's fantastic! We have two old TVs, one of which has no RCA jacks on the back and only a Coaxial port, and Dish Network informed us that our current Dish equipment was "obsolete" and that we needed to upgrade
5/5

So they sent a brand new tech, and all of a sudden, I had cables hanging out the front of the TV rather than being attached in the back because the new equipment was incompatible with our "ancient" TV set! He promised me a converter, but I gave up after six months and ordered this item instead. All of the issues have been resolved, and there are no longer any cables protruding from the front of the television, and the picture quality has not deteriorated.
