This mini jack connects to a computer. There is a headphone jack for it. I was able to use the device
My knowledge is limited, but I believe this device can convert digital signals from Toslink and Coaxial to analog RCA cables or a 1/8''

My Bose sound system will be kept after I get my Fire TV Stick for all of its great browsing features. Here's the issue The Bose Companion 3 speakers are mainly designed to be used as computer speakers. Neither a headphone jack nor the 5mm jack in the Samsung smart TV are available Audio comes out of the 3rd jack. There's a 3. 5mm jack, but it's not analogue so there's no way to control the volume when I plug in the Bose. The problem is that every Bose Companion series speaker has a control pod that plugs into the woofer which is the only means of volume control and I have found no digital to analogue converters. I still have to find a remote for my lazy self so that I can control the volume from my couch (damn IR remotes were shown as a possibility, however, it was a hassle to set up. The solution is I am using this device. I can't believe how easy it is! Using the volume control included with the device, I can use the included audio cable to connect to my device. Additionally, it is quite small, which is nice since it does not take up a lot of room. I only have one con with this item when on, there are a lot of extremely bright green and red LED lights. Despite what I've been doing to cover them with electrical tape, the picture below does not accurately represent it. I found out that the remote control cannot be replaced separately as well. In this case, you will have to buy the entire package again if you lose it. The overall impression is that I'm super pumped. I would have had to buy a new whole-house sound bar and/or TV speakers if I had bought this $20 converter/remote instead!.
The entertainment system in my home is a clutter of consumer and professional equipment since I'm an audio-visual engineer for a corporation. A lot of headaches are caused by this. As the optical out of my display is a fixed volume and I am using a crown amplifier without IIR control, my biggest challenge has been finding the right setup. Yes, I suppose I could just get a standard RCR, but what is the point? As an alternative to adding even more audio equipment for dsp volume, I found this device. It converts the optical output from my monitor to the analog input from my audio switch, which is then connected to my I already have volume control on all my other devices, and now I have it on my display as well. I have my gain structure set to a really loud level for maximum volume, like 50%, so I have the headroom to stop fiddling with attenuation knobs. My only regret is that I didn't get this earlier.
My satisfaction with the quality and results of this DAC was mainly due to how it helped pair a subwoofer with my TV. One of the unique features of this unit is its built-in volume control. I have not seen a converter with this feature, so it must be unique. It is built with excellent quality and is well designed. It was mentioned by a user that the IR remote did not work properly, however I had no issues sending commands the only negative was that the indicator lights were very small and difficult to see from a distance, but they were still readable. As for the subwoofer, I did not meet any problems with any signal fed into it, whether it was a dolby or DTS signal to it, it is highly recommended.
NOT AT ALL. It was a bit of a shock to see the 49" 4k television only had one audio-out - a digital audio optical jack As a solution to this problem, I wanted to purchase a sound bar but I did not need a sound bar in Having trouble finding a good low level or headphone digital audio optical converter, I looked online. This is amazing. What a plug and play concept. There is no effect of the TV's volume control on digital audio out, the headphones are loud and clear, and the boss (wife) does not come into the bedroom to complain about the loud tv.
I like that they also come with a small jack for sound. The previous reviews about how to turn off 5 can be found at this link. Sound output is one of the most important factors here. There is a problem with the remote, as it is pretty sketchy but it does the job. On the front of the device are too small LEDs. Because of the sketchy remote, it is very difficult to see what the unit is doing. Having the volume control as ham-fisted as it is is not ideal. You can think of it as asking your 3 year old to change When you get used to operating this device, you should be able to operate it without any trouble.
