I only used it a few times for school during the spring semester, on and off. The charger is undamaged and appears to be in the same condition as when it was bought. It, on the other hand, has completely ceased to exist! My charger needs to be charged, so this is extremely inconvenient. I am unable to receive any product support because it expired on May 11, 2019 and I was unable to return it after 30 days. So, if you want to "WASTE" $16, go ahead. If you're paying $58 for a charger that will "ONLY" last 4 months, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Only buying a charger sold and shipped by AMAZON will get you a credit if it breaks, but they don't sell them. As a result, I'll be purchasing an original charger from Microsoft/Best Buy/etc. because these knockoffs aren't worth it! Very dissatisfied.
My old charger broke down, and I had to order a replacement because they are no longer available in stores. It had arrived the day before and refused to function. To get it to charge the surface, I had to hold it at an angle. I placed an order for a replacement right away, and it arrived today. The substitute was ineffective.
My Surface 2's factory charger began to have contact and charging issues. To get the charging to start, I had to wiggle the cable where it connects to the magnetic connector just right; if I moved the tablet, it would stop charging. It almost defeats the purpose of having a charging cable. I needed a replacement and decided on this one after conducting extensive research. It wasn't too expensive, and it got the job done. On the cable that connects to the tablet, there is a charging light (dot) indicator. This isn't the same as the factory cable, which had a light'strip. ' It still works fine and charges my tablet quickly, and it looks and feels exactly like the factory charger. Even when the tablet is plugged in to charge, it continues to charge quickly. When charging, the outlet plug gets slightly warm.
The first charger I received was damaged, with the end that connects to the tablet being detached. I requested a replacement and sent it back to you. I just got the replacement, and it's cracked as well. I'm going to return it and get a refund.
The charger is identical in appearance and feel to the small charger that came with one of my other Surface Pro 2 tablets from Microsoft. The magnetic connector has the same charging LED at the end. It even has the original MS charger's cord clip, which is a nice touch. Charger arrived in a generic brown box, wrapped in bubble wrap. I don't need fancy packaging if it keeps the costs down.
As a test, I drained the battery on the Surface Pro 2 to approximately 5% charge and then connected the charger. It immediately appeared to be connected and began charging, just like the factory charger. To keep the screen awake while it was charging, I played a YouTube video on repeat. It took about 2 hours to charge from the time it was connected to full charge. After 5 hours, the charger had become slightly warm to the touch, which was to be expected. br>br>Overall, it appears to do the job; however, durability will have to be determined over time. I don't travel with this device very often, so it won't be tossed in a bag very often, but I do coil up the cable between chargings, so we'll see how it holds up. Because of its size, this will be the primary charger for our Surface 2 devices; at this price, if it lasts a year, it will undoubtedly be a winner.
The cord that came with it had a short and was falling apart, so it couldn't charge my laptop any longer. br>br>When I first saw this replacement, I was concerned that it wouldn't work or be compatible. However, it is extremely effective! I like that the cord is all in one and appears to be more durable than the original cord; overall, I highly recommend this as a replacement or backup cord for compatible devices!.
These chargers aren't designed to be used for an extended period of time. term. Everyone is looking for something. market; Microsoft Surface tablets have been designed to work with it. They last about a year as a result of this. They will last about 18 months if you are very careful. All of the ones I've had so far have broken at the wire/adapter connection. As long as it accomplishes its goal - surface recharging It is not a problem that a few dollars have been spent.
To work, this charger must be properly connected. Even though it is magnetically connected, it does not charge. It's necessary to wiggle it around and avoid bumping the cord, or it won't charge. I was let down. It does not charge quickly enough to keep the tablet turned on.
