A Bluetooth adapter that does not fit properly prevents us from using the controller. In terms of how to do this, I'm thinking of ways to do it.
NES controller ports and Bluetooth compatibility should let the Cadet controller work with any device that has an NES connector.

Selected User Reviews For Hyperkin "Cadet" Premium BT Controller for NES/ PC/ Mac/ Android (Includes Wireless Adapter)
To use with my four original NES consoles, which I have four of, I purchased 2 of these controllers. In spite of the packaging and Amazon description stating that it should work with NES and the connection appearing to be the original 7 pin connector, these dongles are not compatible with My Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Wii U use both dongles. In the connection slot, they slide about halfway in, but they don't fit snugly. You will be able to fall out of it just by breathing heavily on it. In order to see if I could get the controllers to work, I took apart one of my consoles, removed the NES's 7 Pin female connection port by the wires, then connected the BT dongle and wrapped two rubber bands around it to keep it Using this method, a good enough connection could be made between the Bluetooth adapter and controller, which allowed it to be powered. Though I was able to play a game with them, I'm not going to leave my NES half dissected or the 7 pin connector outside the frame of the console. Additionally, I do not expect other people to even understand how to do this (if you don't know what you are doing, don't try to do it). Before returning these, I contacted Hyperkin's Support to determine if these were lemons and they replied "unfortunately, I am not sure if this is a worldwide issue, so I recommend doing an exchange and should the problem persist, please feel free to contact us for assistance. ". It is difficult to believe them based on just this Amazon page alone. While I wish it was true, most of the people who have given it poor reviews. This is a known problem. In addition to showing up in a quick Google search, there are also posts from various sites and Reddit indicating the same issue occurs with anyone who bought this for use on the original NES hardware. One Reddit user told of his similar experience with Hyperkin's support and has sent the item to them for Their new controller and BT adapters gave him the same problems -- they didn't fit snug and also couldn't keep a steady In the event that you're past the point where you're able to return the item through Amazon, I suggest speaking with Hyperkin to see what they can offer In my extensive search for information, one user told me that they fitted nicely into both the original Four Score Multi Tap controller port peripheral as well as the top loading version of the NES. It would be best to avoid this product if you are looking for a wireless controller solution for the original NES (Front loader version) and instead look into This controller is a 4G Wireless Game Pad that will be released on Additionally, it is much cheaper than this one and should work with your NES hardware nicely AND has a much lower lag than Bluetooth. On this Friday, July 17th, 2020, I should receive my pair. Once I have a better idea of how they fit, I will update! My hope is that this information will help someone in the same situation as mine. You can't use them with the original NES, despite what the reviews suggest.
The reviews I read before purchasing were not necessary because I had previously purchased Hyperkin wireless controllers for N64 and they worked superbly. It seems the other reviewers were having a similar issue to mine. Due to the dongle being too short and not having a snug fit, a good full and complete connection cannot be made. To remove the small black cap that holds the controller plugs in place on the front of the NES console, I unplugged them. The screwdriver is needed to pry the lid out but eventually it will come You'll have a dongle that's snug in the housing as well as functional now that the ports are glued in place (since they're loose in the housing). Thanks for taking the time to read this review.
Despite being great, the only reason I gave it a 4 star rating was that it slowly tried to move out of the NES controller port every now and then. To remedy this problem, I would have to push it back in because it would lose You can play this device from 300 feet distance with little latency as there is virtually no lag. To top it off, it has an amazing range, and you actually could play it from 300 feet away.
I plugged it in my retron 5 and it fit like a glove, very snugly, not loose at all. So yes, the reviews are correct, the dongle is very loose on the original NES. That's a lot of money. The measurement seems to have been designed more for the measurements of their Once you get the dongle connected, you will find that the controller is extremely comfortable and responsive. The lag was nonexistent once the dongle is connected.
The controller is amazing when it works, but the dongle is very loose, as stated in the other review. In testing my NES system and my AV Famicom, the problem is the dongle size, which is a major disappointment since the controller plays flawlessly with no lag (I beat Tyson in Puch-O-Rama! Here we go! Super Mario Bros. 2 has Mario's jumps perfectly modeled). The dongles, Hyperkin, will need to be replaced for this product to be a 5 star.
First one arrived damaged and was unable to charge. Would like to see them switch to Type C USB as it provides a far better connection than traditional USB. But still a great controller, you don't feel lag when using it.
There is no such thing as a model that is compatible with all NES models. There is a lot of looseness. As soon as you plug it in and walk away, it will start sagging and not make the proper connection. My controller made a connection and powered on, however, once it had been synced, only the A button worked and it was doing the same thing as the B button. It is useless.
There is something wrong with either my old NES or the adapter that came with it. I have controller extensions from before I bought this controller that fit just fine. My original NES controllers fit just fine. I was unable to fit the adapter into the NES. He couldn't even keep it in because it was so loose. Plugging my extension piece into the plug of the extension and then the adapter into the plug was the next step. I love how well it fits and how well it works. All of the other parts fit nicely and the adapter works with the extension, not the NES port, but now that it connects, it's great! It even works with my switch exactly as it should!.
