There are some nice little gender changer adapters here. Serial connections require you to remove screws frequently from one side or the other when you work with them. You have to remove the screws to remove this gender changer, and if you do it falls apart. I have several of them. No one of them can be trusted There are others, but not these The screws can be removed without the screws falling apart. If you mistakenly allow them to fall apart, they can be a pain to reassemble. Use a bit of glue to keep them together for a while, and I suggest you do so with yours. You will have to find all the pins if you want to complete the challenge.
