When I plugged it in and turned on my monitor, my Mac recognized it right away. I set it up for mirroring in preferences, added a second keyboard so I could close my MacBook Pro (2010), and now I have a desktop computer with a big screen. Awesome!.
I have a "good deal" of legacy gear. I've spent many years working with (Mac) computers. There is a lot of equipment in my possession that isn't broken. However, it appears to be out of date. I adore it when these devices can be brought back to life with the use of a "special" connector. This is one of those widgets that is capable of completing the task.
Although it appears to be low-cost, it is functional.
Used . It does exactly what it says on the tin. This cable was used to connect a new Mac Pro (late trash can version) to an Eizo display.
It's perfect for my 23-inch Apple Cinema display and my 2013 MacPro.
It works fine and, while it can be inserted into the Mac port in either direction, it can only be used in one direction. If it doesn't work, try reversing the direction and inserting it again.
Exactly as stated.
This is what I use on my MacBook Pro 15" (2014 model), which has a T-shaped keyboard. The bolt port can also be used with a mini-computer. This adapter will work with DisplayPort. Other versions of this product (made by a variety of manufacturers) only support video output from a Mac with a video out port that is - only- mini- If you're looking for a low-cost POS, keep Displayport in mind. Understand the connections you're making - from-.
