It works, but it takes some effort, and I'm disappointed with the product because when I plugged in the external monitor (TV), the screen was awash in a red-orange glow

Desktop image with a tinted tint. Because the cable has been used before, it must be a faulty adapter. I jiggled the plug in the socket and saw a normal-looking picture for a brief moment, indicating that the contacts were not properly connected. I took out the adapter and gently squeezed the adapter plug's long sides - Bending them inward solved the problem; the adapter now fits snugly and the picture is clear; one could easily give up and return the adapter. If you have a similar issue, I hope this helps.

All this device does is convert the Mini DVI signal from my Mac Mini to an HDMI signal that my TV can understand. This is ideal for me because I don't require audio and only require video.
