I didn't get what I was looking for

but. In order to connect to my Mac, I needed a firewire 400 to 800 converter. This appears to be similar, but I believe it converts firewire 400 to PC-type firewire, and I believe my laptop has a plug for it. br>br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. This works fine for me because I have an old laptop (PC) that runs on the IEEE-802. 3af standard. I had the adapter and it was 1394a!.

It works! This is one of five wires and adapters that successfully connects my old Sony HDV camcorder to a new Origin laptop with Thunderbolt port so I can digitally transfer old videos from tape to PC using a firewire cable
