The bottom line In short, the DDR is You can connect this connector in a 90 degree down angle if you have a release tab facing downward. A lot of people are confused by the real difference between up angle and down angle. This item was being picked up to fit into a wall jack that was in the back of a room so the cable could be run from one side to the other. Mine had a release tab at the bottom, so this fitting was perfect. It was easy to use. I inserted the connector, plugged the cable in, and then went to the location and plugged in the cables.
Another benefit was that it came with 2 connectors.
This has received a 4 out of 5 star rating from me. The device works for general purposes however, it did not work for the purpose I intended it to. Because my router is mounted vertically, I need to lay down the five ethernet cables horizontally to maintain an orderly appearance. The device is physically slightly larger than the router's outlets spacing, which should not be the case. You should confirm that you are in a suitable situation before purchasing.
If the item faces down instead of up and is even less bulky, that would make me happy. The furniture behind my sofa needed something placed behind it. In my house, the ethernet cable connected directly to the wall was broken, but it was still functional, so I thought I would replace it with this one. There are, however, certain limitations associated with this method.
I noticed that the ethernet port on my television was facing the wrong way. A number of wires were poking out of the wall behind the TV, and the TV was constantly falling out. There was a wallmount for the TV that you could pull out and swivel 90 degrees in either direction. The ethernet was being pulled out as a result of this. It has never been a problem since I started using these adapters.
In order to push furniture further away from the wall, I bought this item. Unfortunately, the size is similar to the one before I installed it. I got what I wanted from them, but they did not work as intended.
The size is way too big for these, but they do work fine. It is necessary to leave extra space behind a desk or table if you plan on using behind it.
It wasn't until after I ordered these that I considered looking at my plug and choosing the right angle for it. However, I did not order those that angled down from the plug like I should have. You're on your own here. As intended, they are excellent to use and would recommend them.
Cheap, flimsy junk is not the answer. The do what is expected of them without breaking, coming apart, or emerging.
