The top piece fits reasonably well, while the bottom piece comes close but not quite right. I was able to put it on, but it was not entirely secure. The plastic is held on to the body of the Macbook by tabs, but not all of the tabs snap into place on the bottom. If you look at the technical specifications, you'll notice that the 2020 MBA is. I'm guessing the 5mm thickness difference is what's causing the issue. I wish the seller would remove 2020 from the title and sell a case that fits the 2020 MBA properly; it also shows fingerprints horribly. It looks terrible with smudges after only a few days. This is not a case that I would recommend to anyone. If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov If you're looking for a case for your 2020 Macbook, go for one with texture; it'll be less likely to smudge.
As a 19-year-old full-time student, money is scarce, so the fact that I spent my hard-earned money on this product just to be a victim of false advertising is ridiculous. I will be requesting a FULL REFUND because this is a violation of Amazon's terms of service and is extremely illegal. PLEASE DO NOT BIY SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Also not compatible with the MacBook Air 2020. To begin with, Mosiso, like every other case maker on Amazon, claims that this case is a universal fit for 2018-2019. MacBook Air models 19 and 2020 are available. That's not accurate. The 2020 MacBook Air has a weight of 0. The bottom is 5 mm thicker. The bottom shell is unable to snap into place on both sides due to this insignificant difference. It will protect and stay on with friction, but case manufacturers should either make an actual case that fits this model or stop claiming that yours does without an asterisk. br>br>Now for the rest of my story. I purchased the clear cover in the hopes of showcasing my lovely new purchase. And, to be fair, it does a good job of highlighting the MacBook's beauty. The case is glossy at first, which attracts smudges. Worse, I believe that this particular glossy material is too fragile by nature; no one is going to make a $15 case out of polycarbonate, but this stuff isn't going to last. Stress cracks appeared on the corners after only two weeks, and the retaining tabs began to splinter. Because it is so rigid, I was afraid of bending the screen while removing it. However, I believe it is due to the shiny colors. I ordered a replacement frosted version from a different brand that appears to be otherwise identical to this one, but it feels softer and more flexible because it is not high gloss. Overall, if you own a 2020 MacBook Air, avoid the clear cover and be aware of what to expect. My cracked and chipped one is being returned to you.
I didn't want a lot of extras, but I did need the essentials. I paid $13 for this, and it came with the three products listed plus some extras. I was impressed after setting up the kit because there were no distractions in the case. It's almost as if it weren't there at all, and it keeps my MacBook Air's minimalist soul. This clear case was a perfect fit for both the body and the aesthetic, and I highly recommend this affordable product. br>br>One important drawback to this case is that it will render attached USB C hubs incompatible, which may not be an issue for everyone. These aren't your typical dongle hubs. Both USB C ports are used by the affected hubs, and they must be perfectly aligned with them. Although the case has a recess for USB C ports, the added thickness on the sides prevents these USB C hubs from fitting. br>br>For more information on the items in this kit, I'll dig deeper.
- Hard Shell of Clear Plastic: br>br> The outer shell was as advertised, clear, and the plastic has a very glossy finish. This looks great with my MacBook's gold color, giving it a gleaming gold toy feel. One of the main reasons I purchased a MacBook Air 2018 was that I wanted a fun computer to use. Outside of the drudgery of work and school, it's critical to me that an expensive product be perceived as something I want to use rather than something I have to use. I was picky about cases because I didn't want to lose the cool factor, but the glossy gold makes it look even cooler after it's installed. It was easy to put together, and there was no need to read the instructions. The case's disadvantage is the extra weight it adds. The weight of the plastic indicates its quality, but for those who prefer the light laptop experience provided by the MacBook Air, this case may add an uncomfortable amount of weight. Personally, I don't have a problem with it, but keep in mind. As previously stated, this case adds thickness to the laptop, which may make some USB C hubs incompatible, but it has no effect on wired dongles. br>br>- Screen Protectorbr>br>Those who are familiar with the concept of plastic phone screen covers will recognize this. If you don't know how to apply plastic screen covers or have never done anything like this before, it will be difficult. Because it's more than four times the size of a phone screen, it's more difficult, but with the right preparation and practice, it came out well, with a few bubbles here and there that are only visible under certain lighting. If you're unsure, ask a family member or friend. First, I used the electronic wipes that were not included to clean the screen. Please keep in mind that using water or regular Windex to clean the screen will ruin it, so learn how to clean it properly. After that, I used the microfiber cloth that came with it to wipe the screen clean. I recommend that you lay the screen up against you on a table in direct light so that you can see any flaws. After removing any dust or other particles, I peeled back half of the adhesive cover and applied the screen protector from the top down, using the included squeegee to remove any air bubbles. As I descended, I would remove the remainder of the adhesive cover. While there were some air bubbles, once the adhesive settles, the majority of them shrink or disappear. Because the MacBook Air has a Retina display, I was worried about how it would affect things, but there is no discernible difference between before and after. Overall, the screen protector is adequate, and anything more would be unnecessary. It's neither more glossy nor more matte than it was before the screen protector was applied.
- br>br>Keyboard Coverbr>br>The keyboard cover is matte and translucent. It's as easy to put together as the hard shell and doesn't require any instructions. Because the plastic is flexible and stretchy, it could withstand hundreds of thousands of keystrokes. The Touch ID key is cut out of the cover, but it can still be used. To make typing easier, they improved the tactile features of the F and J keys. I like it because I use a variety of keyboards and it makes it easier to calibrate my typing. It includes everything you need and nothing you don't, just like the rest of the products.
- Extrasbr>br> The extras included a microfiber cloth for applying the screen protector, a small storage bag tied with string, and some extra surface nubs in addition to the ones included.
Long scratches on two corners and small scratches on the edges were present when the case was delivered. It appears to be a relic. Fingerprints are also caught by this method. My goal in getting a case is to avoid leaving fingerprints. This appears to be an unreasonable request. Overall, it is not recommended, and you should not waste your money on it.
Although the case fits the computer, I am unable to open the screen more than 90 degrees when it is turned on.
I was hesitant to buy it because I thought the reviews were fake, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. br>br>Fits perfectly. br>br>Won't protect you from drops, but it will keep you safe from scratches.
But wow, was I blown away. It has such a lovely sheen to it and is the perfect fit! It's also a lot more convenient to open the MacBook! I would strongly advise! 10/10.
