Although it isn't as gleaming as chrome, it is made of plastic. It also has the sensation of being held by a rubber. Because you'll feel like it'll slip out of your hands if it's made of plastic, the rubberized grip keeps it in your hand or on your lap.
The color I got was very close to the one I saw on the screen.

excellent quality; a perfect match.
I really like the case's soft pink color. The keyboard is a light pink color as well, and it looks great with the case. I've had the case for a few days now, and it's been very durable so far. I don't intend to carry my laptop around with me very often, so this case will primarily serve as a decorative item. Previously, during my college years, I had a black Speck case to keep this computer safe. Now that I'm no longer carrying this computer around with me, I believe it deserved a new case to keep it safe from the elements.
It looks fantastic! This is a fantastic cover case! It snaps into place on the top and bottom of the laptop without damaging it. The top case is all one color, but the apple light shines through the case when the laptop is turned on, giving it a nice look. This set is highly recommended because the keyboard cover fits perfectly over the keys and does not require any adhesive to stay in place. It is far more valuable than the price I paid for it. If you buy a refurbished computer, this case set transforms it into a brand new machine. All scuffs and cosmetic damage are covered.
Just having it on my laptop, which is always on my desk, broke the corner! I'm not sure why the corners aren't reinforced. Because I work from home and require multiple monitors for my work, I never leave my laptop (or my body, for that matter) unattended at my desk. br>br>I had no trouble putting the case on, though the bottom piece did not snap all the way shut. It had a little give to it, but I figured it was protected at the very least; however, after only a day on my laptop, which never left or moved on my desk, the corner of the case has cracked. br>br>At this point, the corner is completely exposed, and the chipped edges are cutting into my arm as I rest it on the laptop. This is a complete waste of time. I used to own a GMYLE case that was incredibly durable- AHEM, AHEM, AHEM, AHEM, AHEM, AHEM I strongly advise you to seek out those GMYLE cases. They're the ones with a rubberized finish. br>br>I wanted a glossy cover like this because I don't like how rubberized covers collect oils and smudges, but these smooth plastic covers are apparently too thin and fragile. br>br>I can't imagine this case holding up AT ALL if you actually carry your laptop around with you, especially if you put the weight of the laptop on its side or corners, as in a backpack.
I teach elementary art and use my computer frequently, so I needed something to protect the computer and keyboard. We are responsible for paying a $350 fee if we damage the computer in any way, so I wanted to take as much preventative care as possible. For my classroom, I recently received a "new to me" older version macbook pro. The rubber keyboard cover is going to take some time for me to get used to. When my hands are covered in paint or clay, however, I no longer have to worry about dirtying the keys or having dust fall in between the keys. If I need to do a lot of typing, I can simply remove it. br>br>The top and bottom covers are made of a tough plastic that protects the surface from scratches. The clips are simple to use and stay in place. There were also four additional rubber bumpers included. br>br>I went with the red cover, which has a frosted appearance that I don't mind. I'm going to get a decal to put on the top cover that will stick to the surface easily. br>br>It's all about the cover. Before you buy it, make sure it will fit your computer. I made the mistake of ordering one that did not fit, and it cost me more to return it than it cost me to buy it. The model number of your computer can be found in fine print on the bottom of the computer.
It's the right size. I stopped attempting to put the bottom pie e on top after reading the directions. I love the periwinkle color and how the Apple logo shines through it. The keyboard cover, on the other hand, was completely useless to me. The backlights and the little bumps on the J and L that tell me where to put my fingers disappear as it slides around. However, I don't mind because I didn't buy it for the matching keyboard cover. I don't use it because I don't think it's necessary. br>br>I'm really happy with how this turned out. It protects my MacBook's bottom from scratches while keeping it cool. It's something I highly recommend!.
The following is a list of stars further down the line: The enclosed "How to Install" instructions make no mention of the bottom shell not covering the entire bottom of the Macbook Pro. I was unable to attach the bottom during installation, despite carefully reading the installation instructions. until I simply placed the laptop on the bottom shell and heard a *click* - The shell was completely and properly attached when I turned it over, and there is only a small gap between the plastic and the computer's bottom. br>br>Aside from that one minor flaw, this is a fantastic cover that does an excellent job of replacing the quite-old and broken shell it replaced. The keyboard cover that comes with it is a nice touch.
This is a fantastic Macbook cover. It's the right size for my MacBook Pro A1278 (2012 model). It has a pleasant matte finish, and the color is exactly what I was looking for. I placed an order for Rose Quartz. It's a light pink with a hint of purple. The keyboard cover appears to be more lavender when the keyboard backlight is on, but it is the same subtle pink when the backlight is turned off. It isn't advertised as an Otterbox or anything like that when it comes to durability. So don't expect your laptop to survive a drop without some sort of case damage.
