Selected User Reviews For Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-DELTA RGB Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case, Tempered Glass

For the time being, buyers should be cautious
3/5

There are no replacement parts, and there is a lot of heat to deal with. The case is lovely, and the physical construction is sturdy and of good quality. The iCue software's ability to change colors and patterns adds a personal touch to your overall system design. You can sync color waves and transitions across all of your devices if you use this case with a Corsair Mouse and Mechanical Keyboard, which is a nice touch. br>br>How come there are two stars? For starters, the airflow options are inadequate. All of the tempered glass acts as a heat vapor barrier, reflecting heat back toward your internals rather than absorbing it like metal would. All of this glass quickly heated up my system to the point where my H60 Corsair water cooler couldn't keep up; I'm seeing at least a 15-degree increase in temperature. Overall CPU temperatures will rise by 20 degrees Celsius, so budget more for a water cooler than you think you'll need and factor in the fact that you'll be dealing with more heat in your build. (Yes, I was the one who did all of the troubleshooting. ) While the above is a minor issue that I will address with a new water cooler or by sawing a hole in the large glass side for another fan, the primary reason I gave this two stars (for now) is as follows: br>br>Potential customers should be given special attention! br>br>At this time, Corsair is unable to provide warranty service for this product; they are selling it under the Corsair brand name, which you should trust, but they do not have the resources to provide warranty service if something goes wrong. My case's RGB LED strip on the front panel is broken, and they don't have any spare parts for the RGB strips or the modular front face. If yours breaks, your only options are to replace it with a solid-color strip or to disassemble your entire rig and return it to Amazon via RMA. Yes, you heard me correctly. The time you spent putting it together, possibly adding new hardware, and installing a fresh copy of the operating system. etc. . Everything goes down the drain, not to mention the time it took to disassemble everything while you waited for an RMA replacement. You simply cannot pre-test this RGB strip until the entire system is functional and complete, and the Corsair iCue software for programming the RGB LEDs has been installed. This is inexcusable. br>br> At the factory where this case is made, spare RGB LED strips ARE available. They are unable or unwilling to request a replacement for any customer who may require one at this time. Why? I'm not sure; it appears to be a straightforward task. I don't want to believe they don't care, but the customer service representative I'm working with is probably limited in what he can do by his boss.

Although it is simple to build in, some motherboards should be avoided
4/5

It's simple to put together, but installing a GPU on some motherboard combinations can be extremely difficult, if not impossible, and the plastic side scratches easily. Aside from that, the case is sexy with some RGB lights inside, it's very easy to build in, and there's enough room for a reasonable number of HDDs and SSDs, multiple GPUs, and hefty coolers, plus there's a surprising amount of space on the non-removable side. The case's cable-display side. The cable management hooks, nooks, and crannies are extremely useful, and they make it simple to have a beautiful build. Due to the placement of the HD sound unit, the Gigabyte AX370 motherboard proved to be problematic for me.

The case looks great and isn't too difficult to put together, but it just falls short
4/5

This was my first build, and there were no major issues, though cable management could be improved. The glass side panel is not held on by thumb screws, which is one of my complaints. To remove the panel, you'll need a hex key (which is included). In addition, the rubber grommets in the screw holes on the side panel are VERY easy to remove. I believe I spent more time looking for those after they kept falling out than I did actually building my PC. Overall, I would recommend it if the flaws I mentioned don't bother you too much, as it is a beautiful case.

Cable management and interior space are at a minimum
3/5

I used a Z370 processor to build my machine. I bought a Pro ATX motherboard, 16 GB of Patriot Viper 2666 MHz RAM with heat spreaders, and discovered that my EVGA CLC 240 closed-loop cooling system would not fit. The front or top of the case can have a loop water cooler. Finally, it's not the case's fault; it's a conflict between parts that don't fit together well because of the way the mobo and case were designed. Moreover, the case indicates that the front can house two 120 mm fans, but unless my case had a defect, there were only two holes to mount an additional 120 mm fan beyond the one that came preinstalled in the case, which seems iffy to me. br>br>If you're using an ATX motherboard and intend to use a 240 mm radiator for a closed loop or open loop water cooling system, I'd suggest upgrading to a larger case. Even when I only wanted to use two fans on the top of the case, the ATX size mobo I was using had its 8-pin connector plugged in. Due to a lack of space, one of the top case fans' CPU power is blocked. br>br>Apart from the lack of space for parts inside the case, cable management for an ATX motherboard was a pain: it was a struggle to get my SATA cables plugged into my mobo, and there was no way to route my 8-pin power cable. Except for straight across my mobo next to the case fan in the back and my CPU's heatsink, I pin CPU power from my PSU. fan. br>br>Again, while I don't care for the case that came with my ATX motherboard, I believe it would work better with micro-ATX. ATX motherboard or another ATX motherboard from a different manufacturer.

The design is shoddy
3/5

Not good. Managing cables from the PSU is a nightmare due to the hard drive's location. I used an older case that I had on hand and will be returning this one.
