Questions & Answers

How come the display and power are two separate inputs on the PC? USB stands for Universal Serial Bus The plan is to consolidate all that onto one cable, correct?

To operate this device, you need to plug in two power inputs. That would go through the switch and on to the computers if you provide it. It is best to connect them directly to their alternative power sources if they do not use a main electrical supply. It must be noted, however, that there are two of them, one for each device. All functions are managed via the KVM plug-in when the devices are connected. My laptops do have strange issues when I connect and disconnect them. This includes any USB devices you connect to the KVM, such as a webcam, keyboard, thumb drives, etc. There are times when it stops charging the other one, and then I have to recommence charging it. The rest of the time, the KVM is great.

In order to connect two computers to the same monitor, I alternate plugging one in at a time with a usb-connected computer Connect the cable to the computer. My monitor must support HDMI for this to work, or does it need to support this?

Besides switching between two computers and a triple-display Dell, I also use this as an external monitor Using this monitor docking station, I can switch three monitors between my work computer and my home PC. It has been a little over two weeks since I connected the docking station to this KVM switch via the USB keyboard and mouse port. It has worked well so far. It will all fit neatly away and I will just need to reach for the toggle switch. There is a metal pad attached to the back of the toggle with an adhesive backing so you can place it anywhere. I have not experienced any problems

In the long run, I intend to use this as an imaging station for laptops and As far as I understand, this will not power desktops, but will it switch between USB and video?

In short, yes. Keep in mind that switching is a hard process. This means that when you switch to PC2, PC1 is unplugged, meaning your keyboard, mouse, and monitor will not work. It is common for Windows to lose track of its open windows when switching between applications, and it has to be reset when you switch If you need a solution which allows you to switch back and forth quickly between the host and VM, you will likely have to resort to a traditional KVM which emulates both the VM and the video.

What is the compatibility with FreeSync? Basically, I want to use it to switch between my macbook to my pc so I can have 4K HDR on both. My PC is set up to run freesync services. Do I need it?

There's no mention of FreeSync on their product page, so my guess would be that it does not support FreeSync, but I am not certain. It is possible that any FreeSync signals would just be encoded in the video signal and passed through this device, but I don't have a setup with FreeSync to test that. There may be a need to call the manufacturer to find out.

A USB port Compared to other KVM solutions, C KVM is unparalleled
5/5

Here's something I want to let you know–Sabrent does not get nearly enough credit for the awesome items they make at insane prices

I bought the Sabrent 2-pipe kit. The USB port has the following type It was $10 cheaper than the next closest comparable device from Amazon, it also has more features and has more features than the next closest competitor. A USB flash drive is provided with this USB stick You are in charge of the console This is a. The HDMI 2 port supports 4K at 60Hz. 0. 2. This device does not require an external power supply, but is powered by the computers it is connected to. It comes with an attachable mounting bracket for you to mount it on the underside of your desk. 4
This KVM toggle comes with double sided tape that will allow for installation under a desk*5. It comes with 2 USB ports A C cable should be about 3 feet long*6. There are reversible USB Type A ports on this device. It will no longer be necessary to guess which way is right the first time you plug in a cable. This device is roughly 1/3 the size of the $300 competition

The only difference with the competition is you are unable to toggle using keyboard hotkeys, which doesn't even work with.

It's interesting that there are two USB-powered devices that can be hacked There are adapters for C ports
5/5

Sabrent's approach appears to have been to take two generic USB-based devices and build a KVM from there instead of a traditional KVM Using several C dongles (or hubs, switches, and adapters), you can accomplish your goal easily. There are three dongles in each box I must provide one (1) copy of my passport It consists of a USB stick The input is - input
2. The USB port is an optional feature I have a C PD connector*type 3 There will be a HDMI output*4 You will need two USBs There are HDMI and USB outputs on the USB-based output device Two USB C ports are connected to both dongles. You can switch between the two by pressing a button. There is no actual USB port on it If your computer and monitor support HDR, or you can use a USB-based C video adapter, these are benefits to upgrading your system Connect the USB hub built into the monitor with a USB C signal. Moreover, it lacks real KVM benefits, such as keyboard control and the ability to switch away from a computer's virtual display once that computer is turned off. I have tested it on several computers, and I have found that (for switching the keyboard, mouse, and video) it works well, so it is perfect for business use as well as homeowner For gaming or creative uses, it will not be suitable (if high contrast or higher refresh rates are required).

It's finally here! A USB port It works with a C KVM
5/5

I have tried four docking stations/KVMs over the past year but could not get them to work on both The Dell XPS15 laptop I have is new, and I have a HP laptop that I use for work (a high-end unit) It had USB and SD cards, neither of which I remember the model number for This connector is a C connector. Either one of them failed to work or they both had problems with the display. My Ultrawide monitor (ACER 3840x1600) might be a component of the problem, but I don't understand why it's been so tough. The Sabrent unit worked first time after I got it, and this has been an ongoing problem for over a month now. It's time to get serious once again. As far as I can tell, I have not used the powered USB connectors (I do not know how they work anyway), but attached a Logitech unifying receiver to the USB peripheral connector for my wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. My only other USB peripheral needed to be connected to the ACER's built-in USB hub, which I connected my camera, my wired mouse, my headphones and my Spacemouse to. All my problems were solved perfectly with this solution. Only thing I am worried about is that this Sabrent unit only comes with two USB ports that have USB 2. 0. My computer is up to date with Windows 10 (which is kind of weird nowadays) and all my peripherals seem to work fine. So I can happily give this product 5 stars.
Thank.

I finally have a working KVM
5/5

On my desk, I have a work Macbook Pro and a personal Mac Mini. I've tried four or five virtual machines, and all of them have not worked with the Macs. Specifically, this one does what it says it will. It takes a while for the video to switch, but that's to be expected. The only complaint I have would be if it had a USB cable attached as a peripheral Besides a USB type C port, an additional USB type 2 port is also provided. A USB peripheral can be shared by one USB port.

I needed a USB thumb drive that would meet my requirements I'em sorry, I've got a problem
5/5

The 2-word sentence is what I am using This USB port is not powered KVM allows you to switch between a Dell laptop (or a Surface Go on occasion) and an Intel 8th-gen laptop Currently, there is no NUC generation. There is a USB port on the laptop Thunderbolt 3 is in the NUC, and it is a USB-C device. Neither works incorrectly, with keyboard media buttons working and mouse extra buttons working as they should. A USB passthrough works with certain USB brands, but only if they support the USB Power Delivery standard You need a charger for your computer. On the off-day When attached to the KVM, some brands would not negotiate the power delivery. Despite working when directly linked to the laptop, they would not charge the Dells when connected to the KVM. There was some compatibility problems with the Surface Go, however, even that didn't work with all USB-based devices You need a charger for your computer. It seemed that both Anker and Ravpower chargers worked correctly after testing them separately and in combination. I want to add one more note about USB PD There is a 60 watt limit per device. Accordingly, it may not be an issue for you. Be sure to check the power requirements of your laptop before using it. *Be aware that USB has limitations due to limitations in the protocol Having two USB ports is a standard in the USB Category C standard. The only number is 0. With USB 3, one can connect to computers. You can use either 8k@60hz or 4k @60hz via Both c and d, but not both A USB 2. 0 standard is simply insufficient in terms of bandwidth The third step is 4. The standard gen2 (10 gbps) has been implemented. Thunderbolt is currently the only kind of controller that does both at this point, and I am unaware of any thunderbolt virtual machines out there. In my case, I prioritize 4K @60Hz over USB 3. This switch seems to work well for me. A half dozen of my USB 2 devices are connected to this computer. During the test, there were 0 devices switched over by the kvm, and everything worked seamlessly. This KVM is really good overall, but there is only one significant thing I would change about it Increase the maximum amount of current that can be delivered by the USB ports. The USB port on this computer is probably a type Because I don't have a time limitation, I just use a powered hub. that big of a My wish list includes a 4-lb model, but I am open to the possibility of a 3-lb I would like to add a keyboard hot key switch, as well as a port switch. It has been a pretty perfect process other than that.

This program works just as expected with both Mac minis and MacBooks
5/5

In addition to a Macbook Pro 15" from 2018 and a Mac Mini 2019, I also have an iPhone 6S from 2016. There is a type - connection between them both This switch works perfectly with the LG monitor (not the one you can buy from apple, which is a cheaper model), so this would not work with the Apple monitor. It surprised me to find that the switch comes with TWO different types of plugs Cables for DATA! What a great idea to consider a good 3ft type of product. It costs about $20 for a C cable. In light of its price and ease of use, I think this is a great deal!.
