I recently purchased a new computer for my desktop. I purchased this because it lacked a DVD player, which I needed to install specific software. It comes with a dual adapter and connects to your computer via USB 3.0. Win 10 has a score of 0.
On my computer, this didn't work.
blu-ray isn't something I'd recommend. ray disc
Hello, this is an external CD/DVD drive for your computer, not for your phone, television, car, projector, or MP3 player.

The item I received was damaged. Amicool includes a lot of warranty information, but before you can use it, you have to leave a 5-star rating. 5. 0 out of 5 stars on Amazon They also promise to reward you with Amazon gift cards and cash if you leave a positive review. I've included a screenshot of the problem. This drive is a hoax, and the five-star reviews on this page are also a hoax. Period.
My shopping experience was as follows: I bought a nice new computer, but it didn't have any media access options (aside from a thumb drive, of course), and I have CD/DVD media that I need to access, as well as the possibility of burning CD/DVD disks. In fact, I had a new piece of software from Best Buy waiting to be installed on my credenza. I looked around the internet and came across this Amicool device for a reasonable price, with good reviews. It took me two days to get it after I bought it. When I opened the package and plugged it in, my computer beeped in response, and when I opened Windows Explorer, I saw the CD/DVD Drive listed. I inserted my new software disk, installed it, and then launched the program. The drive is attractive, with recessed cable storage on the bottom, a short cord that fits perfectly in the top of my computer (see photo), and a USB port. Other devices can be used with the C adapter. The box it came in is small and convenient for storing the unit until I need it, and the vendor emailed me a welcome note as well as a PDF file with comprehensive FAQ and troubleshooting routines in case I needed them. This was the most efficient and helpful purchasing experience I've ever had; This purchase-related service has been honed to a fine art; well done, Amicool (and, of course, Amazon). Thanks.
I also like how you can hide the cable under the drive and there is even a cut out on the side of the drive to make the cable come out and still sit even. This is a fantastic product that works flawlessly. It played all of the movies I tested and all of the audio CDs I inserted with no problems. It's also a great way to add an optical drive to your newer Macbooks!.
This one has been ideal; it's small and light, and it's read all of the discs I've tried with ease. I used this drive to recover data from an old backup DVD that no other computer could read. There were a few files that couldn't be copied due to disc damage, but the majority of the data was read without issue!br>br>Overall, I am very pleased with this drive and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else looking for an external DVD drive! (Testing done on Windows 10 v1903 via a USB 3. 0 port. ) 0 port. ).
I planned to purchase a USB 3. 0 device in the future. 0 DVD burner so that in the event that my old Apple PowerBook G4 died, I wouldn't be without a way to read and write CDs and DVDs. I was shocked by the $40 price tag on a DVD burner at a local Walmart, so I went to Amazon to see what they had to offer, which is how I came across this. The Amicool USB 3. 0 costs $23 and arrives in a week. 0 DVD burner arrived, and it worked flawlessly right out of the box, despite the fact that my computer still uses the standard USB 3. There are no sockets available. As a result, the included adapter is currently useless; however, it will save me money in the future when I upgrade to a computer that only uses USB Type-A. Overall, for the price, it's a fantastic CD/DVD burner, and I've had no issues with it. br>br>If the drive had the ability to ask, "Am I cool?" ", to which I'd respond, "Yes, you are. " )br>br>For those who claim that all five-star reviews are "fake," consider the following: This is a genuine review, and based on my overall satisfaction, I would have given it a five-star rating.
This drive was ordered because the one on my desktop was having issues and getting stuck on occasion. I connected the drive to my computer and it was recognized--it was time to get proactive. E is the letter of the alphabet. Great. However, I was quickly disappointed when a window appeared asking me to insert a disk with EVERY disk I inserted into the drive bay. Isn't that something I already did? I confirmed that all of the disks I tried worked (in the drive) on my desktop, indicating that the issue was not with the disk but with the drive. O well; This item will be returned.
In light of that, I'm pleasantly surprised; they do offer rewards, after all. I, for one, appreciate a token of appreciation now and then, but no token of appreciation can ever compensate for the value of honesty. I got the DVD drive this morning and hooked it up to my Win 7 netbook. Plug- Play until you're finished. I put in a commercial DVD, American Gangster, after the drivers had finished installing themselves. I simply went about my business. I'm afraid I can't ask for much more. Simply because of the USB C plug, I'm hoping/wishing I could use it with my tablet. I gave it five stars because it is deserving of it, and I will gladly accept a gift in exchange. I haven't even mentioned the features that I find particularly appealing. It's small, light, and convenient to carry. The USB C adapter was stowed next to the USB plug, and the entire USB cable was stowed in a channel on the player's bottom. That wasn't present in the one I replaced, which made packing difficult. However, I'm hoping it lasts at least as long as the one it replaces.
br>Because the cord is hardwired and extremely short, you won't be able to replace it with another cable if you already have one or purchase one. br>I needed it to connect to a computer, but without a hub, this isn't possible. You won't have much room even for a laptop. The cable is only about 8 inches in length. br>The housing is made of a very light and inexpensive plastic. The tray isn't well aligned, and it's difficult to close. br>To make matters worse, I tried it with two different computers and three different known good discs, and it failed to read any of them correctly. I intend to return.
