There is no need to size up or down with this skirt. An added touch that we appreciate is the belt with the pouches. There is plenty of length on the skirt without it being too much. Whilst I am in no way unhappy, I did not expect it. The problem with most of the ones I own is that they make my waist look much thicker than it really is, so I don't wear them often. The skirts usually need to be rolled further down below my hips for me to avoid making them look bloated. It is recommended to have a flattened waistband on these skirts to make them look more flattering. Instead of pulling it all the way up under the bra, why not just pull it as high as you can?
