I found them to be more comfortable than my old black Hosers, but the rubber (or whatever it is) on the top of my foot didn't seem quite as supple. During the 4 months I wore them last year, they were fine. In the fall of last year when I took the Edgewaters out of my closet, I noticed the rubber had begun to crack just as the Hosers did after many years of service. Within a month, the cracks had turned into splits and the Edgewaters began to leak. It was only after four months of use that I discovered it in my closet after being stored for months.
