I got this hat for my teen daughter, who loves it. She may not be able to feel it on her fair skin, but it's very lightweight and has an extra wide brim. You need to fold the brim to avoid it getting bent if it's packed There was an obvious bend mark on hers when it came out of the package. A steam wand and a night of storing the hat flat have redeemed its shape, but it required some patience. In addition to the chin strap, the hat still doesn't seem to adjust to a small noggin as well as we would have liked, but so far it has held up adequately. It wasn't a veil that we were searching for In addition, we wanted a sun hat with a color scheme that wasn't overly serious. The veil she tucks behind her head serves as a second flap to her outfit, and she is happy with the way it looks. There is, however, something that you can easily do to trim the veil so that no one would know that it is there. The price at which this item is being sold is such that I won't be disheartened If I had to buy it again, I would.
