The reason why I purchased this set was that I had to pop off the back and replace the battery once the old one was replaced. In this set, the job was done. To take off the watch, I used the yellow opener to pop the watch back off the holder and secured the watch face. After the battery was changed, I changed the charger. Using the watch press, I then consolidated the watches. For my watches, I located the two sizes, and they said to use the one larger than the face where it sits just around the edge for the bottom, and the one slightly smaller than the back of the watch for the top. To ensure the watch face was against a smooth surface, I placed a blue cloth on top of the black disk before placing the watch face on it. Using the watch press, I lined up the handle and squeezed it. In one watch, a little click noise was heard, but in the other one I didn't hear anything. Watches worked once the press was turned on! A good rule of thumb is to go slow. It took 3 seconds for the pressure to take effect, then I lifted the watch, checked it, and it was finished. It may be necessary to press it harder.
