This isn't a water-resistant jacket.
I'm 150 pounds and 5 feet 3 inches tall, so I'm wearing a medium.
I'm 5'6" and 135 pounds, and I ordered a medium, which was slim fit, with a torso and arms that were too short.
I am 5'4" and have average dimensions, so the arms are a little short. The elastic hits my wrists when my arms are at my sides, but it pulls up my forearms if I stretch my arms out in any direction. I'm wearing a medium, and the arms are almost too short.

I really like how long this jacket is; it's easy to dress it up or down. Because the sleeves aren't lined with Sherpa like the rest of the jacket, they're not quite as warm, but they're also not as bulky. It's lined with a silky nylon fabric that's easy to slip on over a hoodie if you want to stay warm, making it extremely versatile! I love the hammered, lightly distressed treatment of the zipper metal.
I usually dress in a size 18 for women. I was 20 at the time, and I was concerned that the jacket would highlight my curvy figure. But then a cold front blew in, dropping the temperature by 30 degrees, and I had no choice but to put it on. Wow! What a fantastic coat! It's warm but not oppressive, and it fits perfectly. The sleeves are the perfect length, it sits perfectly at my waist, and there is just enough room underneath for me to layer my clothes. In a country chic kind of way, it's also adorable.
I live in Maine, where the winters are harsh, so I wanted a Carhart jacket for warmth as well as style and femininity. So far, it's been very warm and not too bulky after a few wears, even though it's still early in the season. After reading all of the reviews, I decided on a medium. My height is 5'6" and my weight is 160 pounds. It hugs a little, which is exactly what I wanted, but it's not too tight because I wore a light hoodie underneath. So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase!.
Buy it! This Carhartt jacket is fantastic, and it far exceeded my expectations. It's the perfect fit in every way. I'm a small, so I went with the smallest size available. Because it's a tight fit, I can wear a hoodie underneath. Go up a size if you want a looser fit to wear with a hoodie underneath.
For the past two months, I've been buying and returning winter coats on Amazon Prime (Amazon is sure to flag me at any moment). ) That's it for now. There's no way it's returning to the warehouse. Nope. I should've known Carhartt would be the right choice.
First and foremost, it's 100% cotton. It can be washed (I may have to change my mind about this if it shrinks, but Duck cloth rarely does). )br>br>Second, the fit is ideal; my shoulders are at ease, and the sleeves are just right for my long, knuckle-baring arms. arms, and walking Third, this color (blue/lavender) is absolutely stunning. I don't look like I've snatched one of my husband's coats because of the feminine fit. Fourth, it's a challenge. Carhartt fabric is incredibly durable, as it is with all of their products. Fifth, it's surprisingly warm. br>br>Walking through the woods with the dog won't be a problem with this jacket. br>br> I wore a vest underneath my coat on the coldest day yet. However, I usually go without most of the time. I'm very comfortable in this jacket today, even though it's about 40 degrees and raining. Last but not least, it has some nice little details - There are two inner pockets, a slim outer chest pocket with a zipper (where my phone goes), and no zippers in the side pockets to scrape my hands (good job, Carhartt!). )br>br>It's an excellent winter jacket in every way.
To give you a sense of scale, here are some measurements: I'm 5'4", 125 pounds, with a 33-inch bust, a 24-inch waist, and 35-inch hips, and I purchased a size XS. XS is the perfect size for me. It would have been far too big for a small. I like that the sleeves are a little roomy because I can wear a hoodie underneath if I want. The hood is not too small, as is the case with many jackets. The jacket bunches a little at the waist due to the elastic, but that's not a problem for me. Despite the fact that I have long arms for my height, the sleeves hit exactly where I want them to. Some people have complained that the jacket isn't long enough, but I believe it's more of a bomber jacket style than a full length. The material appears to be extremely long-lasting. Based on my previous experience with the brand, I believe this is a genuine Carhartt, but if not, it's a pretty good knockoff. This is something I'm looking forward to having for a long time. I was looking for a lighter weight, long-lasting jacket, and this fit the bill. Order your usual jacket size and you should be fine. Shipping was also quick! I hope this has been of assistance:.
My height and weight are 5'4" and 135 pounds, respectively. The body is very roomy, and the sleeves are just long enough. I ordered a large, and it fits perfectly. The sleeves would have been too short for me if I had gone down a size as recommended in the reviews. It's a little longer than the average women's jacket, which I like. If I pull it down, it covers half of my butt, and if I pull it up, it covers my entire butt. The zippers are the only drawback. They're a pain to zip because they're very sticky.
This coat is thick, sturdy, and extremely warm. If your torso/arms are longer, you may need to size up; I ordered according to the sizing chart, but the shoulders were too narrow and the arms were too short (I'm 5'8", size 11 jeans, 36B). br>br>The body was definitely roomy, and the sleeves were roomy as well - The only flaw was the length. br>br>I'm returning it but will definitely exchange it for a different size.
