I have a waist measurement of 38 inches and a length measurement of 29 inches. I'm not sure what size to get.
He would be a M Regular according to the size chart. L, on the other hand, will be fine if he wears a belt.
The breathable fabric is one of the reasons I wear my try spec pants. I'm employed in the construction industry. In the sweltering heat, I've worn blue jeans, carhartts, and Dickies, all of which are extremely hot to wear. From now on, I'll only use Tru Spec ripstop as a fabric. They do work in the heat of summer.
Standard military sizing is shown in the chart. br>It corresponds to the reason you'll receive. br>The medium regulars I ordered were true to size. There was no shrinking because the pants were made of polyester.
If you are buying 100%cotton and you are on the edge of a size you might want to go up one to account for the shrinkage you might want to go%

spec. I've lost a significant amount of weight and require a smaller pair of shoes. I went back into my Amazon history and used the old order to reorder a smaller size, but this is what I got. The first thing I noticed was that the item has a cheap zipper fly rather than a button fly as the description claims. I was hoping for the same button fly as the old pants I bought. Then I noticed the cheap pocket linings, which did not match the old pants I purchased. These are junk and essentially a bait and switch, especially since I used the same web page as before and they cost the same as the high-quality ones they sent a year or so ago. I returned these because they were still far too big for me, and I'm looking for a better-made product.
I've pared down my wardrobe to only brown TRU-blend TRU-blend TRU-blend TRU-blend SPEC BDU pants are fantastic for casual wear. Despite extensive use and hundreds of washings, the pairs I've purchased have all lasted well beyond their expected lifetime; some are eight years old and still look brand new. I recently purchased a new pair in a smaller size after losing a significant amount of weight and requiring a more comfortable fit. The built-in waist-adjustment tabs are the only flaw in these pants. They usually last a couple of years, but they're the first (and only) thing on a set of these that I own to wear out. It doesn't matter because usually only one breaks, and the other is sufficient to go without a belt; however, you can always replace it with a regular belt and be back in business. This is an excellent item.
I fixed it with a hem, but the part that irritates me is that each pocket is sewn differently. On one pair, the secondary pocket for a flashlight or a pocket knife is completely useless. And all three pairs of these pockets are either sewn too loosely or too tightly. I'm Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and I'm loving it! Only one pair of pants is acceptable; the other two are not! The threads are fraying, the velcro is disintegrating, and the cargo pockets are useless. The flap is sewn at an angle that makes opening it with one hand impossible. To say the least, it was aggravating, and I would have returned all three pairs if I hadn't had them hemmed at the tailor. br>br>It boggles my mind that they all claim to be made in the same place, but one pair is straight-legged and the other two look like MC Hammer pants! br>br>I got lucky with these because I'm on the night shift and the only officer on post; if I'd been on the day shift, these pants would have been too ridiculous to wear and would have never met department requirements! If you're unsure about your waist size, go down a size. They stretch out a lot; I ordered two full sizes down and they're still too big! br>br>These aren't the True spec from yesterday, and they're embarrassing to say the least; they're hit-or-miss, and you're taking a chance.
Propper. These pants are very appealing to me. One pair of these and one pair of Propper were purchased. Both are good pants, and they are the same size. There are some distinctions. The Proppers are tapered towards the ankle, giving them a more fitted appearance. The TRU- The SPEC's had a baggier ankle. The Propper brand is also a little tighter in the seat and crotch area, but it's not uncomfortable. There's also a noticeable difference in SPEC's bagginess. On the TRU-site, there's a lot of good information. Although SPEC's are slightly softer, I wouldn't call the Propper's rough. owing to TRU- I think the Proppers look crisper than the SPECs because of their bagginess and softness. For the past two months, both have performed admirably. Additional information: br>br> It's been four months since I've worn these two pairs interchangeably and washed them regularly. They appear to be in similar condition. I've noticed that the cuffs by the ankles on both pairs have dragged on the ground at some point, becoming scraped up and threaded. I don't wear ties on my cuffs and took them off early on. The scrapes appear to be more prominent on the TRU- Because SPECs are more flexible, this is to be expected. I'm also not wearing boots with either of these, so that's probably the case. br>br>Update after 8 months: So far, everything appears to be in order. Both are still in good condition, and I use them on a daily basis. There were three things that stood out to me. the TRU-'s uppermost button About two months ago, SPECs began to appear. I could sew it back together, but I'm too lazy to do so and instead just tighten my belt over it. Both pairs feature side cinches that can be used instead of or in addition to a belt to tighten the waist of the pant. If I squat, the Specs stay in place, but the Proppers uncinch. 3: Squatting is a word that comes to mind when we talk about squatting. I was doing yard work the other day, and while it wasn't too hot when I started, it became increasingly humid as the day progressed. Because of the sweat, when I squatted in the Proppers, my knees and legs were very tight. I'm guessing it's because the proppers aren't quite as squishy as the Tru- specs. I haven't worn the Tru-Fit Bracelet in a long time. I couldn't compare because I was wearing specs and squatting in them while sweating.
