I believe Bear Grylls could boil water in this hat, and I've heard Chuck Norris used it to cook a turkey.
It can be adjusted to your preferences. I have a very large head and have difficulty finding boonie hats that fit me at their largest size. When set to the maximum, this one fits me perfectly.
The vents haven't rusted yet, John. It has made me very happy.
There is no Velcro patch on the garment. There is, however, enough room to add a Velcro base and then any patch you want. Velcro can be purchased for a low price at your local sewing/craft store with coupons, and then sewn on to make it yourself for a low price. I got a 5 for this. 11 patches to be added to the backpack

I bought it to keep my ears from getting crispy in the desert, and I have to say, Uncle Sam's design isn't ideal for that. It only has a two-inch brim. I'm guessing it's 5" wide to avoid interfering with longarm optics. Although this provides some protection, depending on the angle of the sun, it leaves the nose and back of the neck exposed. br>br>The band is three layers thick, and the majority of the top is two layers thick due to the "map pocket. " Because the material absorbs water, it becomes extremely humid and quickly absorbs sweat. The label states 65% polyester 35% cotton and that it is water repellent and that it is water repellent and that it is water repellent and that it is water It's made of standard milspec ripstop material, which isn't particularly breathable. br>br>The North Face, REI, and Columbia all have better hats in this style that aren't as tacticlol, but are made of modern materials, are lighter, and are simply better all around. br>br>According to the label:

This hat was primarily purchased based on the recommendations of others. I've had a lot of boonies hats over the years and decided to give this new gen 2 hat a shot. In terms of functionality, it appears to be a well-made hat that does its job. I miss the nylon loops around the top that almost all boonies have, and I like the cord locks and adjustable sizing cord, but this hat, with its large puffy top, looks rather silly to me. The tops of most boonies are sleek and the sides are angled. This one causes a puffy appearance on the top of your head. The brim is adequate, but it does not maintain a straight line very well. The brim of the hat tends to wave a little, but it still works. If appearances aren't important to you, this hat should suffice. This is not the boonie for you if you're looking for a classic straight edged boonie with a clean look.
I'm not a hat person, but I needed something to shield my head from the sun. Traditional baseball caps didn't fit the bill because they only provided front protection and didn't look right on my small head. Introducing sun protection that can be adjusted in 360 degrees. It's so light and comfortable that I find myself wearing it even at night; my only concern is that, like my try-on, it will fade over time. BDUs with a specific purpose. Because the material is the same, I expect the black to turn purple and then grey, but for now, I'll just enjoy it and try a different brand when the time comes. If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to Specify that your products be made out of more durable, fade-resistant materials.
I have a Tilly that is starting to wear out, and I needed something for travel quickly. This is a good fit for the bill. It's easy to adjust for fit, provides good sun protection, and is water-resistant. In moderate rain, repellent for a short time. (NOT waterproof; it only repels water for a short time; in heavy rain, you'll need an umbrella. ) ) I like it enough that I might not replace the Tilly with it because it is lighter and repels rain for a longer period of time without the need for Scotchgard or something similar. br>The only flaw is that I misplaced the chin strap slide after only a few days. Fortunately, replacements are easy to come by and inexpensive. It's not the hat's fault that I misplaced the slide, but it's a common occurrence. Is it in style? br> I'm clueless and unconcerned. I wore it in London for a little over a week, keeping the occasional rain off without soaking through (yes, it rains in London), and no one, at least that I was aware of, said anything positive or negative about it. Perhaps we get a pass on what we wear when we travel as Americans.
br>I only put it on when I go hiking. It has a wide enough brim to keep the sun off your face, but not so wide that it becomes floppy or inconvenient. br>The fabric appears to be of good quality, and the adjustable fit is effective. br>I like that I can tighten it up a little to keep it in place in the wind and other elements. br>The color is great for outdoors because it blends in well with other earth tones.
I have a 100% cotton boonie by Propper in size 7 3/4 that is a good comfortable fit, but it has no extra room if it shrinks over time. As a result, Unfortunately, it only appears to fit up to a size 7 3/4, and while it fits perfectly now, there is no extra room. As a result, anyone looking for a size larger than a 7 3/4 should avoid this one. Furthermore, while the hat's construction is sound, the material appears to be thin and flimsy, giving it a cheap feel and an overly floppy appearance. The 100% cotton Propper boonie has a thicker, stiffer material (especially the brim) and feel that is very close to real government issue in contrast. The bottom line- In the end, I'll put this adjustable Tru-Fit hat on. I bought a Spec boonie and expect it to be serviceable but wish I had bought another 100% cotton Propper boonie instead.
I already have an all-cotton one that has served me well, so I bought this as a backup. It's fine, but it has different properties due to 35% cotton and 65% synthetic composition. It is, for example, water repellent as opposed to water resistant. The cotton boonie's ability to absorb water. I mean, who cares, right? Because it does not breathe as well, this water repellent is much warmer (hotter). That is fine for colder weather, but I like to soak my boonie hat in water to help me cool down, which this 65% synthetic hat doesn tallow. Granted, it would be more enjoyable if it rained. Just thought you might be interested.
