A hat size chart can be used to determine the exact difference between a size 7 and a size 7 1/2; when I ordered mine, I used the chart, measured my head, and ordered the indicated size, which was a 7 1/4. In addition to laundering instructions, there is a statement on the inside of the hat that reads, "CAUTION: For long-term comfort, a loose fit is required at first." I would describe the fit of my hat as slightly loose, which is fine for me, and I would order the same size again. If your hat is only a "tiny" bit too big, it's probably fine. If it reaches your eyes, I'd recommend going down a size.
Brim width is about 2 12 inches. br>12 inches from brim edge to brim edge and side to side. br>13 inches from brim edge to brim edge in front and back. br>I'm not sure if any of these responses are quite what you're looking for.

Some of my requirements are met by the hat. It's perfect for the Arizona sun and heat. But. My size (7 5/8) wasn't available. Because it was 100% cotton, I thought that 7 3/4 would be fine because it would shrink a little a little a little a little a little a little a little a little a little a little I was disappointed when I found that it was 65% poly and 35% cotton. I wasn't expecting it to shrink as much as it did. Perhaps a few more washes will make it fit a little better. If it starts to get windy, I'll switch to the "stampede strap. ".
The majority of the boonie hats I've purchased have been thin and light. I needed something that could withstand the elements as I hiked through the mountains. This is ideal: it fits perfectly, it's tough, and I can toss it in the washer when I get home. I did, however, misplace the small adjuster that goes on the chin strap. It appears to have been devoured by the washing machine. But I didn't use it very often in the first place. The strap is long enough that if it gets too windy, I can tie it.
This hat is made of 100% cotton material, according to the product description. The product I received is made of a 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend. FYI.
Despite my best efforts, my current Boonie hat was disgustingly stained and dirty from too many hot weather deployments, despite my best efforts to wash it. My old ones did a better job of wicking sweat away, but this one doesn't. I need to try to find one that is 100% cotton for sure.
The measurements were spot on. It appears to be of high quality. Not the 100% cotton as described in the advertised in the advertised in That was fine because I much prefer it not 100% cotton. It wasn't, according to a previous review. Purchased for use while working outside, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. The map pocket comes in handy.
Despite the fact that the tag said 7, I received a size 6 headband when I measured the circumference. The second coyote of size 7 was used on the next attempt. Some people must get what they ordered, but this size is way mislabeled in the manufacturer's and amazon's systems. 5 order came in marked size 7, but was once again a size 6 by head size; some people must get what they ordered, but this size is way mislabeled in the manufacturer's and amazon's systems.
Exceptional craftsmanship and, unlike many other boonie hat suppliers on Amazon, you get exactly what you order. There are several sizing options available, as well as a perfect fit.
Returning it and placing an order with a different company. It's possible it was a packing error, which I freely admit.
