Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the 32x32 and 32wx32w formats?

For waist and length, a W and L should be used.

Is there any velcro on the side pockets?

Both thighs have a velcro tactical pouch in front of a zippered pocket. With Velcro behind the hand pockets, the hand pockets can be opened. Zippered pockets on the back. Everything has its own place, and there is plenty of security. They are fantastic.

Is it possible to breathe in this environment? Is it suitable for the scorching heat?

In my opinion, it is not very breathable and does not perform well in extreme heat.

Do you have relaxed-fit versions of these fabric-style pants?

They're designed to be worn loosely.

Selected User Reviews For Propper Men's Summerweight Tactical Pant

The pants are great, but the sizes are off
4/5

These pants are great, and the pockets are mesh lined, so they dry quickly. Because it contains some Spandex, the material dries quickly and is stretchy. It's also light, making it ideal for summer hikes. Unless you wear thermal underwear, I wouldn't recommend them for winter hiking. They have a lot of storage space in their pockets as well. The pockets on a lot of hiking pants are terrible. My only issue is that Propper sizing differs from that of most outfits. Most of my pants are a 32 x 32, but I size up to a 34 x 32 because I like to conceal carry a gun. When it comes to Propper, you should size up in the waist and down in the length. I went with a 36 x 30 and it was perfect. I have a height of 5'9" and a weight of 163 pounds. I gave it four stars because Propper should have warned you about the sizing. I once placed an order for a pair of pants and had to return them because the sizing was incorrect.

Great pair of pants
5/5

It's not "for the price," but it's fantastic. Reading the reviews made me feel a little uneasy. These pants, on the other hand, I adore. This was my first foray into the world of nice cargo. So take that with a grain of salt. (Since writing this, I've also tried the 511 apex. ) I'm 6'1 200 pounds and have an athletic build. The 34/32 was the perfect size for me. My wife likes it because it's a little baggy and loose but still form-fitting enough to make my butt look good. (I ordered a second pair in the same size, but this time the waist fit perfectly around my waist, whereas the first pair was a little baggy and required a belt. ) The fabric is a little stretchier than I expected and it's fantastic (much stretchier than 511, which is only a two-way stretch). They have a light, airy feel to them. However, they are not as cool as you might think because they block the wind. Summer-friendly, but also suitable for colder climates. The best-fitting pants I've ever tried on my body. I'm not sure yet about the long-term viability. The fabric isn't very durable, and there are already a few snags and cuts, but that's to be expected with this type of fabric. For the most part, the ripstop did its job. br>Great deep pockets with a nice mesh liner. There's a French fly on the back, which is a nice touch. I'd buy enough for a week if these had the stretch tunnel waistband. I ordered a pair of edgetecs to see which I prefer. (They were unwearable; the edgetec waist fit, but the thighs were so tight that I couldn't put my hands in pockets or even spread my legs apart; strange how bad that was)br>br>pants don't make a lot of noise when you walk, but they do in very quiet situations, i suppose. The fabric has a rough texture to it. And the black isn't quite as dark as I'd like, but it'll suffice for my work uniform. It's black, but in the shade or in the sun, little sparkly bits of a lighter color show through in the fabric. It's a nice-looking pant with small squares in the fabric, which I assume means it's rip-stop. Instead of doubling up the standard pockets, I wish there were more. So you have the standard hand pockets, but one is stacked on top of the other, and the cargo pocket is the same way. That's fine, but it could be even better. Not a Supreme tactical pant, but a nice work pant good for hikes and stuff. br>Could go for a small phone or mag pockets, a pen pocket, etc. Especially given the price. br>So, in conclusion, I have no real complaints. The design could be a little more thoughtful. Although the 511 apex I own is arguably of higher quality, I prefer almost everything about these pants. br>Once again, a tunnel waistband should be added to these bad boys. Give the buyer a few options, such as a lightweight pant and perhaps a 10 and 20 gram pant. Perhaps some layout options for pockets. I despise velcro, so that outside velcro pocket will never be used by me, and double pockets are also useless to me because they bind together when full. br>That's really all I have to say about it. I'll be purchasing more of these in the future. For me, the fit, pocket size, and placement are all excellent. Much better than the 511 pantsbr>br>These sit at the waist and have a low profile. These have a lot of space. Moose knuckle is a gift from Apex. The dump pouch on these is fantastic. I can barely get my hand through the Apex cargo zipper. These are far superior to apex in terms of suitability for me. br>However, that's the only thing I've tried thus far. I'm planning on getting a helikon tru spec and, yes, an arctyrex.

AN EXCELLENT LEVEL OF COMFORT
5/5

WOW - I've never worn a more comfortable pair of "tactical" pants. They are extremely comfortable because they move, give, and stretch. The size was accurate, if a tad smaller than expected. The fact that the waist isn't elastic is appealing to me. I'd rather buy my exact size and have it fit snugly around my waist without the need for a belt, and then I can just buy another pair of pants if I gain or lose weight. br>br>I like that the back pockets don't have a flap that gets folded over and looks sloppy, and that the front cargo pockets have both a flap and a zipper, so I can keep the zipper open if I want, say if I'm carrying a concealed weapon or something. br>br>One complaint is that when you walk, the material makes a "swoosh swoosh swoosh" sound. It isn't particularly bothersome, but it is present. I don't mind because I'll be wearing these to work, and the material is similar to that of swim trunks. Another issue is that the black is too light; it could be darker. However, I am very pleased with this product in general.

Fantastic pants with a few flaws, such as a lack of pockets
4/5

In general, I really like these pants. I've placed an order for six. I've gone through 8 pairs in the last couple of years because I work outside in landscape construction and my waist size ranges from 38 to 42 inches. Throughout the year, the temperature will be around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I'll keep ordering, but there's something I'd like to point out. The mesh pockets are a complete embarrassment. When you put a set of keys or anything else in them, they rip a big hole in them, allowing car keys, eye drops, a pack of gum, and other items to fall down inside your pant leg. Because they're light and breathable, I don't expect them to last long. The material of the pants, on the other hand, lasts months longer than the weak-wearing ones. Pockets full of ass! Please reconsider the flaw in these pant-style pants' design. pockets. I'll keep ordering them regardless, because no other work/tactical plant is as breathable as this one. However, I shouldn't have to rush every pair to the tailor within the first month of use to replace the mesh lining.

UPDATE: The Columbia Sierra Ridge and the Blood and Guts PFG have been compared
4/5

UPDATE: br>Not the best fitbr>but the best material I've tried. br>Material feels identical to Blood and Guts 2, but Propper is far more durable for the weight. br>Slightly overpriced and far from perfect. br>If they were less expensive, they would make excellent trail pants. br>br>Summer weight pants that are very straightforward. My initial impressions were as follows: br>br> br>However, on the Superior Ridge, I put them through their paces and was glad I had them. br>br>Tough and light material. br>Not quite as form-fitting as Columbia Sierra Ridge or Blood and Guts 2. br>However, the fabric is more comfortable and long-lasting. br>These don't have a typical pocket layout for outdoor or tactical use, but I like the hidden mesh pockets that keep important items secure, even while climbing.
