This hat is absolutely gorgeous! It's surprisingly affordable, very comfortable to wear, and provides complete sun protection for your face and back of your neck. It was the perfect fit for me! The wide brim didn't stick out too far in front of my face, obstructing my vision while walking. My back of neck was completely covered by the extra fabric. br>br>I was concerned that the fabric would be too thin. However, it was ideal for long periods of time in the sun because it didn't feel as if it was trapping the heat on my head and neck. When I wear hats made of thicker fabric or straw, it can get a little uncomfortable. It gets so hot underneath like material that I have to remove my hat. But before I can do that, I have to rush to find a shady spot where I can cool off without getting sunburned. I didn't like wearing this hat because it made me feel hot. br>br>I was looking for a hat with a chin strap because I've lost a lot of hats to the wind. The chin strap isn't permanently attached to this hat, which is the best part. It can be taken off completely! Even with the chin strap attached to the hat, it is still a very comfortable hat to wear. The ability to stick your ponytail through a hole in the back of the hat is a unique feature. Wear your ponytail lower on your neck, closer to the nape of your neck. It does a good job of keeping the hat on your head, and if you pull your ponytail through, you may not need the chin strap. br>br>Despite the fact that the hat cannot be folded, it is extremely light to carry. If you have a large or long purse, you can easily stuff it in there without having to worry about the brim bending. br>br>I'd buy this hat again in a heartbeat. The navy blue color of the hat, as well as the red and white pattern beneath the brim, are both very appealing to me. It goes with a lot of the things I own. However, I'm considering getting a lighter color so that I can pair it with more of my dresses and skirts. Wearing these types of sun hats is a must if you live in southern California, where the sun is out and the days are extremely hot!.

As a landscaper in my city near Denver, CO, where the UV index is frequently 11 or higher, I work 10-hour days. 12 (Today's version reads "Extreme risk of harm"). I'm a very light-skinned individual. The lightest foundation color at the makeup counter is what I use. As you might expect, I have high standards when it comes to sun protection. Once at work, I forgot to put sunscreen on my face (I wear 70 spf) and ended up with just a smidgeon of pink on my cheeks and none on my forehead. Sunscreen is still required, but not to the same extent. One of my favorite features of this dress is the back skirt. I've worn wide-brimmed hats to work, and the back of my neck still gets a lot of sun, but the skirt completely hides it. I'm not going to get one of those strange farmer's tans! If you're hiking with a backpack, it won't hit you in the back, which is great. For sun protection, I can't say enough about this hat. Plus, even when I'm knee-deep in weeds, it's cute and makes me feel pretty. br>br>The back band tightening bow thing is kind of lame, but with the chin strap and pulling my ponytail through the back slit, it doesn't really matter.

At the, I kept it on all day. This hat is fantastic. I wore it with a sleeveless top all day at the zoo. Not only did the hat keep the sun off my face and neck, but it also kept the sun off my chest and shoulders. I don't think I've ever been outside all day without getting sunburned. The ponytail hole is convenient because it keeps hair off your neck. The hat was a little hot, so I lifted it now and then to catch a breeze on my brow. My head did start to sweat a little, but that was to be expected. The brim of this hat is right at my brows, so it shielded my face a little too much. Because I didn't have any peripheral vision, I had to physically turn my head. I would have preferred the hat to sit closer to my crown rather than on top of my head.

I've always liked hats, but it's always been difficult for me to find one that fits well and isn't too expensive. Every one in the stores was a blanket One Size Fits Most, so I was mostly stuck shopping for men's hats, which were all way too small. br>br>I developed sun sensitivity and had to resort to trying to find some shade. So I measured my head in inches and centimeters and searched Amazon for a hat that would provide adequate coverage without making me look like I'm ready for shuffleboard at the retirement home. br>br>While the beige dress I bought a few months ago does appear to be a little grannyish, ish, the one with the white polka-dots Dots has proven to be a huge success. It also effectively shields me from the sun. Neither is too tight for my difficult-to-fit feet. fit head. br>br>I think I'll have to get a navy one for myself.
