The visor is sturdy, but it will catch the wind and flip up due to the brim's size. It isn't, however, floppy in any way. If there is too much wind (wind, not breeze! ), I pull my hair through the back opening or clip it to my hair with a hair clip. It's a fantastic hat. )br>br>
I'm so pleased with my hat that I ordered another in a different color. Because I've had three surgeries for basal cell skin cancer on my face, the main concern for me was protecting my face. The design took a lot of thought. The purchase was a great success. Yes, the brim is wider than a standard baseball cap - This is exactly what I was looking for in terms of sun protection. Some people think the wider brim is unattractive, but I'm fine with the tradeoff of better skin. The material has a sheen to it, similar to that of "windbreaker" jackets or coat linings, which I don't mind; Some reviewers describe it as "cheap" in appearance. That is, once again, a matter of personal preference and expectations. It's not cotton or denim, so don't get your hopes up. However, after reading other reviews, I knew what to expect. The hat, in my opinion, is well-designed and contains all of the essential features: Back closure with velcro, plenty of room for a ponytail or, as I do, pulling out some hair and leaving the rest down. (Because I have silver/gray hair with purple balayage ends, the purple hat is ideal. ) ) At the end of the inner velcro closure is a small black elastic loop that can be used to hang the hat on a hook or to secure a ponytail. This hot is one of my favorites, and it's ideal for the summer. It shields the majority of my face from the sun, which I appreciate. I also appreciate that I can play on my phone while it shields my phone and my entire face from the sun. Stylish and comfortable. I'm going to get a new one in a different color for her.
Because of the ponytail hole, it stays in place well, and the attachable strap adds to the security. For a windy beach, this is perfect! Although it isn't as cute as my beach sun hat, it is far more practical. It's preferable to look like an elderly lady on the beach for a day than to fry your face and have wrinkles for the rest of your life! Sunburn is only for jerks.
I have 15 as well. This hat is absolutely incredible! I was afraid I'd look ridiculous in it and have to return it, but I'm now tempted to buy one in every color. I'll place at least two more orders. This is a fantastic hat for the pool or the beach. You can still be protected if you pull your hair up. The brim isn't gaudy or excessive, and it completely covers your ears. The fabric dries quickly, and the hat folds up easily and retains its shape. I have scars on the top of my head from a car accident, and my hair doesn't protect them from the sun, so I usually braid or leave my hair down to wear a hat, but this one covers the top of my head, protecting my scars while still allowing me to wear my hair in a messy bun or ponytail.
It's great to have a hair opening. Just to let you know, the lining did not match the one in the photo, so I'm guessing the sun hats come in a variety of fabrics under the brim. I intend to purchase additional colors in the future.
One of the most unsatisfactory Amazon purchases I've ever made. The star ratings are wildly inaccurate, as are the reviews. Because the material is so cheap and slick, it will never stay on your head unless you have a ponytail and wear it like the model in the photo, but strong winds will blow it off. The hat has no structure or shape around the head; however, the visor does, but it is so large that you can't see anyone in front of you unless you raise your head like an elderly woman reading without glasses. I don't know if it's too big or too small because it's so strange - It's only a few degrees off. It appears to be of low quality. The floral detail is nice, but you can't see it, and no one else would notice it unless you look up or they're looking up your nose. I gave it a fair chance by adjusting it, but I am unable to leave the house wearing this hat. Something from the dollar store would suit me better.
Pros: I usually wear a high bun, and this is the perfect shape for it. It appears to be of long lasting quality. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The top is not attached in the middle. The top fabric is strange, a little shimmery, and hangs loosely. I can't tighten it enough because the Velcro in the back is too short (though I do have a small head).
This summer, I wanted to find a sun shader. I ordered one because the price was so good. It's of excellent quality. And, because it opens completely at the back, it's adjustable for various head sizes. Simply slip it on and adjust the Velcro to your desired fit. I expected cotton canvas, but it's more like a heavy polyester tent-like material. Material with a soft sheen, for example. If you are fortunate enough to be able to travel, this is ideal for packing in a suitcase. To match my summer wardrobe, I think I'll order a few more colors of this hat.
