Questions & Answers

Is it necessary to use a 22mm or a 20mm band when changing the band? Although the description states that it is 20mm, some reviews indicate otherwise. ?

22mm. The band tapers from 22 at the lugs to 20 at the clasp, which is why I swapped mine. 22 is the number you need.

Is it safe to swim with the watch?

Yes, it is waterproof to 200 meters, which is fine; however, this watch is modeled after the Rolex submariner, with easy-to-read hands and a manual dial that you can set to check time elapsed from a specific minute. I rarely take it off, so it needs to be waterproof to be used in the shower, pool, and other wet environments. 200M is higher than the average waterproof watch rating of 100M. A watch with a 50M rating isn't waterproof enough for swimming or even showering, so that's out for me.

What is lumed and what does it mean? Do you have your hands on the marker's set point?

The hands and markers are all luminescent, including the small marker at 3 o'clock next to the date and the second hand, but lume isn't one of the watch's selling points. I'd upload a picture, but I don't see a way to do that when answering a question; it's not very bright, and it only lasts a few seconds.

Is the battery going to last long?

It's standard, but since it has a screw on back and a replacement can be purchased for about $4 at any drug store, you shouldn't have to pay someone to replace it.

Updated 4- Thank you, Casio I got this watch on the first day of the year
5/5

2018 My first Casio watch was given to me on Christmas morning in 1979. On the same battery, that watch, a simple black plastic digital watch, worked for nearly 15 years. This wasn't any great achievement in my mind at the time; it was simply all I knew, with the exception of the time when I got an Armitron calculator watch. The Armitron not only didn't last, but it also didn't feel like it would: the buttons were flimsy, the edges were rough, and it had a plasticky feel to it, despite being gold. By comparison, my old Casio shone brightly. My father got the same watch as me for Christmas that year, but in stainless steel, and whenever the subject came up later, he'd laugh and say something along the lines of, "David, I think I wore that watch for thirty years and only replaced the battery once. " " So Casio is what comes to mind when I think of Casio. br>br>At work, I once told a coworker that Casio made the best watch on the planet. Naturally, he laughed and quickly pointed out that there are FAR better watches on the market. And he was absolutely correct, but not in a financial sense. br>br>I've owned a few other Casio watches in my life, including a Forester model that was particularly cool due to its forest green color and the fact that it was a fishing watch. The term "fishing watch" referred to a device that provided information on ocean tides. Even though this was completely useless in New Mexico, I enjoyed the little fish that would appear when the tide was high or something. I also got a Casio with a world time sensor and an atomic clock. This one wasn't quite right. After a while, the light stopped working, and it was difficult to re-set. But, after eight years or so, it's still ticking in my drawer, and I occasionally wear it. However, this is unlikely to be the case in the future. br>br> This watch. br>br> I'm giddy over this timepiece. I'm at a loss for how to express myself. I'm not a "watch guy" in the traditional sense, but I've worn one on my left arm since I was about ten years old. And, honestly, if it hadn't been for Casio, I would have mostly avoided wearing one. br>br>Casio doesn't always hit the nail on the head. After all, they are human beings who live and breathe like the rest of us. Perhaps that is what makes this one so lovely. br>br>A few years ago, I spent around $400 on a very nice Bulova watch. That watch is very appealing to me. It gets a lot of compliments, and rightfully so. It has a good foundation. It has a lot of weight. They put a lot of thought into the design, and the result is stunning. It has the appearance of a $400 or more watch. It's ideal for wearing to work, but not in the way you might think. Since the beginning of time, no. 2018 br>br>I'm not a diver, and I've never dived (? ) Okay, I've never scuba dived before. But there's something about a watch that can withstand being submerged for six hundred feet and still function that intrigues me. There are many watches that can do all of this and more, but none of them are this watch. This is the watch I would wear if I were a Viking. So, what do I have to say? The date is, indeed, absurdly small. I require reading glasses to read small print, but even with them on, I am unable to read the date. Most people who haven't just woken up from a coma should be aware of the date. Casio, you've done it again. Oh, and the Lumiglo or whatever it is is weak and nearly useless, but it's there at least. However, I enjoy shining my phone flashlight on it and looking at it in the closet. br>br>However, tapping the crystal with my fingernail gives the impression that I'm tapping bulletproof glass. br>br>I actually use the bezel because it has a great click! I use it to keep track of how long it takes the waiter to bring my food out after I place an order. Unless you're a very smart, unselfish engineer type, this is the kind of watch that won't win you any friends or impress anyone. Maybe. People have asked to hold my Bulova, have examined it closely, complimented me on it, returned it, and then looked at it on my arm as if they might mug me later. That isn't going to happen with this one. You are the only person who will ever truly understand the significance of this watch. It's a love affair between two people who aren't supposed to be together. That's a feature I like. br>br>There are a couple of things I'd like to mention that I didn't see mentioned in the other reviews. For one thing, there's the band. It's a decent piece of work. In the photos, it appears to be all plasticky and horrible, at least that's what I thought. But it's pliable, if not supple, and proportioned, if not svelte. In addition, the clasp is quite good. This isn't a low-cost option. It's almost as if they've realized the clasp is just as important as the other components. "The clasp is the most important part of any watch," according to a Casio executive. It's the only way to keep it going. Make it a beefy dish. " Yep. That is precisely what occurred. It's well-made, with a soft, rounded finish, and when you put it on, it makes a pleasant clink sound. br>br>I don't think there's anything else to say. br>br>With the exception of when I look at my watch to see what time it is, I am always aware of the time. My eyes only saw the face for 003 seconds. It's all very obvious. Also, it's practical. Furthermore, it is straightforward. That's something I've never considered with any other watch, and I really like it. So I'll stop now, but expect an update when this watch becomes less of what it is now, or in the year 2040, whichever comes first. br>br>***UPDATE*** April 27, 2021br>br> Please hear me out. Since I bought it, I've had it on my arm almost every day. That's a little over a year and a half. Before you ask, no, I don't wear my watch while swimming. It's not safe to take a shower with it, and it's not safe to swim with it. I don't sleep with it, but I do remodel homes and other sweaty, messy things with it from time to time, and it gets dirty. br>br>Anyway, my first minor setback occurred in June, and because it was so minor, I failed to report it. The battery had died, which was a bummer. Bummer. So I took the watch to a fancy jewelry store that I found on Google maps and had the battery replaced. I paid $20 for a job that took five days to complete. Everything was fine once I received the watch back. After that, it died for the second time, about four months later. I went to a small jewelry store I happened to be driving past, and this guy took it apart, checked the battery, which he said was fine, cleaned it thoroughly, and said it was probably just dirty inside; I suspected shoddy workmanship and/or a lack of attention to detail on the part of the fancy place. As a result, I was on my way with a clean, healthy watch on my wrist. The guy didn't charge a dime and completed the task in less than five minutes. He had a lot of experience in this field. br>br>Since then, the watch appears to be keeping even more precise time. I'm serious. br>br>Then the band broke while putting it on the other day. (See photos)br>br>I recently ordered a genuine Casio replacement band, and I noticed in the photos that the replacement says Casio JAPAN, whereas my original says CHINA. (See photos) As a result, I have high expectations for the new one. br>br>Apart from these two flaws, the watch has performed admirably.

Low- Watch with a dive-inspired design that is not only affordable, but also beautiful
5/5

You could spend anywhere from $100 to $1000 (or more) on a dive or dive-inspired watch. Or, if you just like the look but don't want to spend a lot of money - You do, however, enjoy a good-looking woman. looking at the time - This Casio quartz (battery-powered) is the best you can get. operated) diver that is reminiscent of all the well-known high-end brands, from Seiko to Tag Heuer. This is a serious watch with a lot of credibility for the price of $50. It's a Casio legend, but it's also a lovely stainless steel chunky and stylish sporty watch for every day wear. This one has a serious black dial with a cool marlin logo on it, as well as a water resistance rating of 200 meters. I'm not planning on using it for diving (except maybe in the sink), but given that it has a screw-on lid, I wouldn't be surprised if it was rated to that depth. the crown is descending Yes, you read correctly. The ability to keep the movement from taking on water is the first requisite for a true diver. Second, it features a sharp unidirectional bezel that rotates in only one direction. It may take some silicone to loosen it up (it will pull your nails out the first couple of times), but it clicks very nicely and everything. At 3:00 p. m. , the face has a large date window. There are no numbers on the face, only white circles and white rectangles (at 3, 6, and 9, though the 3 is shortened by the date) and a typical diver's double squared-off hand. at 12 o'clock delta: It has a screwed-on back. Even that feature is usually only found on more expensive watches. The comfortable and classic Casio dive band has nothing wrong with it, but it swaps out easily, and I replaced it with one of my favorites, an ArtStyle ballistic nylon NATO strap in black. To be honest, I think this is the best $50 (plus $11 band) watch I've ever bought (a couple of Timex Expedition chronographs come close, but they only have a pop-out dial). off to the side, which I despise). Even if you're a watch snob, you have to admit that for the money, this is a nice watch, and as a Casio, it will serve you well in any situation. I have one of the first Casio digital watches from the 1970s, and it still works. This Casio looks much better than an Invicta when compared to some Seiko automatics and Seiko mods I have in my collection. So. Now it's up to you to decide whether or not a blue face should be included in this!

In the opinion of a professional diver
5/5

This is a watch that you can't go wrong with. You aren't diving below 660 feet, so the cost and effectiveness are ideal. No, you're not, FT. So, for $44, you get a watch that works, works well, takes a beating, and can be replaced for a fraction of the price of a Seiko or a Rolex. br>This is a MONSTER- PROOF! On a job, the watch is ALWAYS the first item to be hit, scraped, or broken. When you retire, buy a Seiko and tell everyone who asks about the incredible deep sea diver you used to be. You'll be glad you didn't waste money on an expensive watch that looks like a Seiko until you were done diving for good.

For a true dive watch, this is an excellent value
5/5

PICS have been updated and new ones have been added. I just received this watch this morning, two days ahead of the expected delivery date! I'm a big fan of dive watches, but I wasn't sure if a $38 watch was worth it. Buy this watch, I'll tell you! It's large, beautiful, and well worth the money. I'll keep you updated as time goes on to see how it holds up, but for now, I'm very pleased! It's big, which I like; the listing says it's 40, but it's actually 45. I have a 7" wrist and enjoy the way it sits. For the money, you get a lot: 200M WR, screw down crown and case back, uni-directional bezel, and uni-directional bezel. The bezel is directional. as well as a nice date window The strap, however, is the only thing I think could be improved. It has a cheap plastic feel to it, but that's not a big deal because I'm going to get a Zulu for it. Here's a shot of it next to my $400 Deep Blue; I think it stands up to much more expensive timepieces.
EDIT: It's been over a year and it's still going strong and looking great! I always beat the crap out of it, and it never fails me! br>I've added a few more photos of it on various straps because I like to mix things up. It's a watch that can be worn in a variety of situations!.
