It surprised me at how nice this hat was. In my line of work, I am a nature photographer and I'm trying to find a hat that meets my specific requirements. This one was just what I was looking for. I tried others that didn't work for me. My camera's eyepiece is shielded from glare by the brim of the hat, which is also wide enough to act as shade. Furthermore, the brim is stiff enough to retain its shape, yet just as important is the amount of flexibility (floppiness) to allow me to see through the viewfinder when the camera is in portrait position (vertical). Using stiffer brims and ball caps would cause the hat to have to come back on your head or be removed from it, in turn making it impossible to avoid It works perfectly with this hat! A nice cotton material is used for the material. The color of the example shown on Amazon looked more ivory when I ordered, so I was worried it would be too light. In my mind, an authentic khaki color would have been ideal. The light khaki that I received is actually tan. This has been a very positive experience for me! There may be cooler hats out there, but this is not one of them. This cotton hat works for my situation although the vents at the top aren't that big, and some other synthetic materials may (or may not) breathe better. Despite my expectations, I found this hat to be both a high quality and a comfortable piece. The fabric is nice and sturdy. I feel very comfortable here. My new hat is great, and I may buy another color so that I can change things up every now and then.

I find this cap to be very similar to the ones worn by Army/Marine soldiers during the Vietnam War. A good sun blocker and a good sun protection product It can be easily rolled up to store.

Despite its downsides, this product is exactly what was desired, with the exception of the adjustable chin strap sewn in. That part of the hat that I received is not to my taste, so I removed it. It would be better if the chin strap was removable, or even eliminated completely altogether. Apart from that, it's a great product.

I guess it's not much fun here since it's winter and it's been cold. This is not a winter hat, based on what I have seen on the internet. I do like these hats because they are well-made, comfortable, and they seem to allow air to flow through for the top of your head. Purchasing these for the summer was the main reason for purchasing them. When I update anything, I will let you know.
