bought this jacket, but it is very crinkly and loud when I move Is it possible for it to soften up and make less noise if I wash it a couple of times?

There's supposed to be a lot of noise and crinkles. It's not recommended you buy a rain jacket if you cannot tolerate plastic like Nylon rubbing against your skin or noise. Those are both things you'll be disappointed with.

My height is 5'7" and my weight is 150 pounds, so could the medium be paired with a puffer down jacket underneath? Should I get a large or a medium?

As far as height and weight go, I'm 5'5" and 113 pounds. It looks like there is more than enough room inside the Medium Despite my size medium, I look baggy in it. In my opinion, the medium would be fine, unless you want to look baggier, in which case the large would be better.

What can be done if the hood cannot be removed?

There is no way to remove it.

According to the chart, I should get a small, but what if I'm 5f 9in and the sizes don't run the same? Should I get a size or two larger?

The weight of my body is 165 lbs and I am 6'3". Large Tall is usually my size in jackets, and I bought an Eddie Bauer rain jacket in the same size. My sweater fits well underneath, and I can easily wear a light jacket over it. The shirt would have been too large for me if I had ordered a size up.

My favorite thing about the jacket is how it fits and how it looks. Five foot seven and 155 pounds, I found the small to be the perfect fit. The jacket is just the right size so I don't drown, but big enough for me to layer a puffer jacket underneath. However, I was rendered drenched by its miserably poor performance. After wearing it for the first time, I became stuck in a downpour for 15 minutes. Neither the inside nor the outside of the jacket were dry. I suggest you stay away if you want a jacket that will keep you dry, but if you want a stylish windbreaker, maybe this jacket is for you.

My favorite part of this jacket is the collar. Despite its wide fit, it runs somewhat oversized (which is great for wearing as a shell over a sweater). Many people complain that it is very light, but it is thicker than what they perceive. The materials in this trash bag definitely should not be used for trash bags. I nearly walked away from that purchase because I thought it was one of the worst exaggerations. This is good news for me. As the name suggests, it is not a storm jacket, and the purpose is clearly The jacket is rainproof, so it is suitable for all types of weather Hurricanes are not a threat to us. If you want a storm jacket, you're going to have to pay a lot more money. The jacket is unbreathable and I would advise you to be aware of that. Underarm vents are located on the inside, so that is at least a plus. Additionally, if you get too hot, you can always take the jacket off. There are so many options available with this jacket.

The weight is very light. This item has never been worn out. We had light rain but were able to keep going. Should be able to handle a down pour if necessary.

It's well made and fits true to size. A zipper is difficult to open and close and has an odd shape. To lubricate it, I had to apply lubricant. Velcro is used for the cuffs and they must be undone and put on when the jacket is put on and taken off. If elastic had been available, life would have been simpler. As there is no rollup collar, the hood can't be rolled up. However, it may go around me at least. A total of $70 for all that. It's a better one I bought for $30 and wear it every day.

My favorite thing about it is that it informs me that I am not getting bigger and fatter than I was a year ago. A HI-vis rain jacket that I have had for ten years is being replaced by six new rain jackets I have the Tec, In every case, the waistband is too tight and the shoulders are too tight. They are metric, according to me. Considering its $70 price, I hope it lasts for at least 10 years. It is American sized, well made and should last for a decade.
