Questions & Answers

Other Fibers What exactly does this imply?

It means that 100% other fibers were used in the making of the shorts. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

What is 100% other fabric really all about that other fabric all about that other% ?

They're made of 2097% Nylon and 3% Spandex and 100% Awesome materials. It's ideal for a hike or a hunt. Quickly dries and lasts a long time.

Are these true to size, or have you heard they run large?

They have a large population. I usually wear a 34-36 in women's clothing. I'm 6' 1" and weigh 200 pounds and have a waist size of 36. I'll need these in a hurry because I'm on a tight deadline.

Is there a measurement for the inseam?

As stated in the title, the inseam measures 34 inches.

It's baggy and not at all like previous years' versions
3/5

A big thumbs down. The 2015 style was made of a different material that was stiffer yet flexible and had a classier fit, which I bought for my husband. Prana made an unannounced design change in this product. While this version is baggy all over when compared to the 2015 version of the same size. The ankle area resembles a bell bottom, so don't plan on wearing these pants anywhere else besides the crag. I was extremely dissatisfied with the design and fit. I had to go back.

Great pants, but be wary of the sizing - These PrAna pants are great for travel, but Amazon Customer Service is terrible
4/5

This fabric is used in several pairs of convertible and regular pants that I own. It is extremely comfortable and wrinkle-resistant. The sizes listed here are for waists only, and are not the same as the sizes listed in the sizing chart link. That link claims that a size 30 waist corresponds to a size 32 waist, which seems odd, but it's true. I debated whether the size chart was correct or if it was waist size, but I had previously purchased PrAna pants in waist sizes of XS, S, M, and L, so I went with the sizing chart and ordered size 30 pants around Memorial Day, and when they arrived, they were too small - I started a return thinking I'd just buy the right size, but the price had gone up about $25, so I looked to see if I could exchange them. br>br>I started a return thinking I'd just buy the right size, but the price had gone up about $25, so I looked to see if I could exchange them. br>br>I started a return thinking I'd just buy the right size, but the price had gone up I found an Amazon policy stating that clothing can be exchanged for a different size, but the return process wouldn't let me, so I contacted customer service, who sent me a series of unhelpful emails explaining why the online exchange option didn't work, that they couldn't do it for me, that they don't control pricing, and so on. I asked if they could escalate to someone who could override the standard options, or maybe issue me a price credit, and they said no. After I rated the experience as unhelpful, the Amazon site requested a second chance to assist me. I re-iterated my issue and stated that I would be happy to re-iterate it if necessary. I never received a response to my request to purchase the correct size if I could find them for a comparable price. br>br>I suppose the lesson is that if you're unsure about a size, buy both/multiple sizes and return the ones that don't fit. Don't be caught off guard by a significant price increase between the time you purchase the item and the time you discover it doesn't fit.

Excellent Hiking/Travel/Casual/Climbing Pants in a Lightweight Fabric
5/5

I bought these to use as a light hiking, trekking, and travel pant in the subtropical Florida climate, and I'm happy with how they fit, look, and perform so far. The fit is more form fitting in the legs rather than baggy like other hiking pants I've tried. The fabric also appears to be wrinkle-resistant, making them ideal for travel. br>br>The nylon fabric is lightweight, stretchy, breathable, water repellent, and quick drying, making it an excellent choice for this demanding environment. They have a gusseted triangular vented crotch that should help with mobility while also providing additional ventilation in this active area of the pant. These appear to be a little heavier fabric, but are still comparable in weight to my other favorite nylon hiking pants (Columbia Silver Ridge is my favorite). Probably better suited to climates that are a little cooler. This manufacturer does not specify an SPF factor, but due to the natural SPF of nylon fabric, it is likely to have a SPF rating of 40-45. 50 - like the Columbia Ridge pants' advertised SPF rating - Another benefit of this pant for those who want to protect themselves from the harmful effects of UV radiation is that it has a built-in UV filter. br>br>I'm hoping for good durability because I'm planning a trip to Joshua Tree National Park with rock climbing on the agenda! The pant's double and triple stitching in key areas, as well as the metal waist closure button (plastic buttons aren't as durable), should provide some added durability. br>br>In terms of fit, I ordered my usual size 34X32, and while they fit perfectly - However, the waist and crotch areas are a little tight. Even with the adjustable belts, the fit is still a little tight. These pants can be worn without a belt thanks to this feature, but they do run a little tight in the waist area, even when the expandable belt is fully open, as other reviewers have recently noted. If you plan on concealing a weapon in IWB mode with these pants, you should order two sizes up. In the future, I plan to order the next size up, size 35, to give myself a little more room in those areas. br>Another feature I like about these pants is the double zippered security pocket on the left pant leg, which allows for both top and side access, which is a really clever design and handy feature! In addition, on the right hip, there is a security flap pocket (not velcro) for storing your wallet and other valuables. The large 2" wide belt loops allow for a wider belt to be worn, which will better support and accommodate an OWB holster. br>So far, the only drawbacks I've noticed with these pants are the shallow depth of the front side pockets and the shallow depth of the front fly zipper. It's not enough to detract from my five-star rating. br>Have a wonderful time traveling and trekking, my friends!.

A word about measurements - These aren't the kinds of things you'll find in stores
4/5

Here, I'll attempt to respond to two key questions: What size are the pants with only one measurement (for example, "30" vs. "30")? "30x30"), and are these the pants you can buy right now (no, see below)? br>br>1) I took a chance on the size "30" pants because I needed 30x30s and they were $30 less expensive. There was no indication whether the waist or inseam measurements were 30". The pants I got were 30x30 in size - 30" waist and 30" inseam, to be precise. Great! 2) HOWEVER, these are not the same exact style pants as those sold in stores. After trying on a pair at my local outdoor store, I decided to look for a bargain online. In the store, the pants had a slimmer leg and were a little more fashion-forward. forward, and had a slightly softer feel (at a cost of $30 more). By today's standards, the ones I bought from Amazon are ridiculously baggy. br>br>I'm going to keep these pants because they'll do everything I ask. If you want a more fitted style, go straight to the store.
