I really like them. The weatherman just happened to have four inches of snow, which was sleeted before it was rained on with 1/2" of rain making it into crunchy ice. As for the 13 M, I didn't get the 5 barely at all. - I love these boots because these just slide on and the waterproof liner keeps me warm even when it is cold outside and windy. I don't even bother putting socks on if I am doing a short excursion. If I am not going out to the woodshed or up to get the mail, regular socks will keep me comfortable well into the twenties. The boots I wore as a teenager are much lighter than the black rubber boots I have now. If I'm going on extended walks in the snow, an arch support insert may be needed. To compare the 11's and 12's, I ordered both pairs to try on side by side. The 11's fit perfectly, while the 12's fit well, except that they have more room in the heel area that causes the heel to slip.
