SOREL - Men's Glacier XT Insulated Winter Boot

It is amazing what a pair of shoes can do. I bought them two weeks ago and have worn them daily Having been in the ice industry for decades, I am now a film director. There is no doubt that they are very warm shoes. I have been experiencing leaking issues with them, however. My feet got so cold while filming on ice that I had to leave early. It leaked so badly that I had to take my shoes off. *But the issue really lies with the warranty (loosing worktime because product did not meet the description)

But the warranty is really the issue. In terms of the warranty, there is no replacement or fix for the shoes or boots, instead there is a gift card (this is what happens after the shoes/boots are returned). Replacing the shoes is important to me. One year warranty is included with each pair of shoes. Immediately after the incident, I contacted Sorel to let him know what had happened. Amazon told them to just return to their website. You may be able to do it When I asked if I could send it to be fixed, she said she wouldn't be able to, (my size wasn't available). I value companies that are willing to work with their customers, even if one little customer means nothing to them. This is not something I would like to happen to anyone else.

As I purchased these boots several months ago, I was aware that they apparently sold out on Amazon last winter and wanted to get them early The former happened over the weekend and the latter has yet to happen. The scenery along the trail to Arethusa Falls in New Hampshire is beautiful, although the trail is fairly rugged. There are already a few layers of snow on the trail, but this had been melted due to the many hikers and slightly mild weather (see the attached photos). No slipping or falling on the rocks or snow occurred during my entire hike up and down. It is wise to note that these beasts are HEAVY, so you will be able to skip leg day if you are taking a hike like this while wearing them. I wanted to get a picture of the snowfall from the middle of the frozen river as we reached the Falls. Having heard that the river is shallow at this time of year, I made my way out to the middle of the river, where I broke through the ice and buried my left leg nearly to the knee in the freezing water. In spite of the submersion, the secure top managed to keep only a small amount of water from entering the boot. Similarly, my foot was positively warm the rest of the day even with the immersion. It seemed as though I would have to deal with a frozen limb! I was incredibly impressed by the quality, construction, and warmth of these boots, and am looking forward to further testing them out. It is certain that I will buy a pair for my teenage son next week!.

Although I hesitated at first to order them due to the price and a few negative reviews, I did so just the same and am so As for my shoes, I wear a size 10 1/2 D, and most reviewers said to order the next larger size if you wear a 1/2 size shoe because They were comfortable and a good size for me. It was just a little loose on the heels and toes, but another pair of thick socks fixed the problem. It may have been just a little too snug if I ordered a size 10, but since I did not order a 10, I have no way of knowing. The bugs have been with me for two days, and both days I spent outside in the sun. With my feet as toasty warm as I could wish for at 12 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, I could not ask for anything more. The boots in this category are the very best I have ever owned. I would describe them as a bit "clunky" in terms of size (largeness), but not too much so as to be uncomfortable for Although I must admit, though, they do make you look like Bigfoot. do not notice any difference between my new boots and my old ones in terms of their weight. It's a pleasure to walk on the treads. My feet did not slip a single time while walking through deep snow and ice. 16 inches of snow fell in our area, but my boots were high enough that the snow could not get over the tops and over my feet. My favorite feature of the boots is that you can tie the laces only part-way up, since they tighten around my ankle and do not go all the way up to the top of the boot, making it really easy to take them on and off. As long as my pants are tucked in, the drawstring at the top helps prevent snow from entering the tops, but is small enough to let me pull my pants outside if I prefer. This is a purchase I am very, very happy with. Now, if only I could find a pair of gloves that will keep my hands as warm as these boots do! The pros are Good quality fabric
Stitching appears to be good
Excellent tread grip
Good height for keeping out snow
Great warmth
Size seems to be pretty consistent

CONS There wasn't a lot to find, except that it was a bit expensive.

It might as well be 0 degrees F Inner insulation can be removed, which can be both a good and a bad thing. I have found that getting your foot into the insulation without causing it to bunch up or move in the wrong spot can be difficult. The boot also takes FOREVER to dry if snow or water get into it (sweaty toes, snow on snow, etc. ). I had to wait over 5 days to dry out a bit of water damage at room temperature. The only time I would recommend these boots is if you are in sub-zero temperatures The weather has turned to zero. If you prefer lighter weight boots that don't weigh much and cure faster from water or sweat, then that would be the best option.
