Questions & Answers

Do these merrill shoes really come with a water-resistant lining. ?

I wouldn't say it is completely true. Most likely, the soles are intact, but the tops are leaking. In other words, I can walk on a wet pavement, but not on a wet lawn without getting my socks wet.

What is the quality of this shoe for working outside?

It hasn't been worn as a work shoe, but I can attest to the fact that it is much more durable and supportive than a regular shoe or boot, on top of being especially comfortable. It would also be a major plus if the device were waterproof. In addition, I think it would be a much more comfortable work environment for you in the long run.

Do they give enough cushion? I have a pair of Moab 2, and they give me a feeling of A very difficult and unforgiving job. ?

The shoes were very comfortable and I wore them almost every day during a three-plus week tour of Scotland and Ireland. Walking a lot is something I do a lot and the Alverstone is my favorite As far as cushioning comfort is concerned, I would not hesitate to purchase them.

I would not recommend a merrell shoe at all
3/5

For the past 15 years, I have been wearing merrell shoes. This seems to be a skechers shoe that has been branded with a Although I hoped they would break in, after a couple of months they are stiff all over, feel like wooden clogs, and feel like they are tight at the toes.

The shoe runs a little small but it's a great buy for the price
4/5

As a result, I need a waterproof hiking shoe for a trip to Ireland. A pair of Alberstone WP shoes that I tried on in my local sports store performed much better than the Moab2 WP shoes I had in mind. The arch support is a little high and I saw several reviews about the soles coming apart after a short time. The shoes felt great but my typical size 9 is too big for them. In the 5 D, I found that the toe box was a little cramped Several people have suggested buying at least half a size or a full size larger based on the reviews. Having ordered in size 10, I received them on time and in the correct size and color that However, I am wearing them now and these shoes seem to be very well made and very comfortable. I haven't given them the Ireland test yet. My only complaint is that the shoe strings have a tendency to slide out of place Despite the inconveniences, I am very pleased with my first pair of Merrell's.

This is fantastic! I've loved Merrells for as long as I can remember
5/5

They aren't as comfortable as Merrells of old, but they're still one of the best shoes you can buy for the money, as one reviewer stated. Trail walking is an ideal use for these Alverstones. This is an all-purpose shoe that I bought to wear on both pavement and trails. The sole wears well on a pavement, but I'm not sure how well it wears when walking on it. Because the heel of the shoe is rounded, it is perfect for trail walking. It makes walking on the ground or pavement a bit unsteady however, the rounded heel gives you a bit of a wobble. In snow packed with ice, these shoes perform well. It fit me just like Merrells have always fit, maybe a bit narrower than I'm used to, but it still fits well. This is a highly recommended book! If you walk on pavement, check out the Merrell Ontario 85 shoe. There is a Merrell website where you can choose between what shoes are recommended for pavement using their filters. There are several of their "sneaker" shoes they recommend, along with the Ontario 85.

If you buy the right size, you will find it is quite comfortable, but seem to have to go up half a size
5/5

I gave this to a friend as a gift. It is very comfortable and he said they might have to size up a half size, but I first purchased a 9 1/2 which was his size, but I had to order a 10 because they were too short. He said they are very comfortable so maybe you should order a half size larger.

This is a high quality product that lasts a long time
5/5

I bought a second pair of Merrell shoes this year. This is a nearly indestructible material. The first pair of my shoes are still in good condition after five It is the waterproofing of these shoes that attracted me to them. An extra half size would be ideal for me. The soles of my feet are nine inches long. The shoe size on me is a size 5, and I would go a half size up or get longer shoelaces. A very tough material that can resist rocks, wood, etc. The Merrell shoes I own, which are more than five years old, are still fully functional, while I've gone through three pairs of Nikes.

It's always been Merrell shoes that I reach for when going outdoors
3/5

We regret to inform you that these Merrell Men's Alverstone Waterproof Hiking Shoes are no longer available. I was so disappointed in these shoes because they were way too narrow, and the sole heel was far too narrow.

Noise is present, but it is comfortable
5/5

There are now a couple of these in my possession. It's a good thing they are water-proof since they keep your feet dry while hiking in wet conditions. (I wear them every day) The outer soles are somewhat soft and will wear out after a few months of use. Only one issue I have with these shoes is the noisy waterproof membrane There is a crinkly noise when I put them on and sometimes when I walk (my other pair of shoes did not crinkle). I am overall satisfied with the product and will be ordering more in the future.

The shoe is amazing! Despite the fact that the shoe was a bit too small for my size, I loved it
3/5

So many people had spoken highly of this brand and I finally decided to buy Within a couple of days of placing the order, I had the shoe in hand. There is no problem there except for the color which seems a bit off from the picture. The movie still made an impression on me. Despite the fact that it was a homemade product, it looked like it was well made.
Unfortunately, I found them a bit snug on my toes when I tried them on. While the web site states that the shoes are true to size, the shoes seemed a bit In my shoes, the tips of my toes hit the soles. In the same size, I've been wearing Timberlands all my life, and they are still as comfortable as they were. I'm contemplating whether I should buy the next size up or stay with my existing brand.
