Questions & Answers

In the water and on slippery rocks, can these shoes withstand walking in them well?

This has been a great product for me for the last month or so. My wife and I went rafting last weekend and had a chance to see one of them in action in the I was very impressed with their performance. These shoes had good traction on rocks in the water as well as good drainage. Although I live in a dry climate, they dried fast and do not seem to have been wet at all. This would be my second purchase of them.

Do you know what size this shoe is compared to the original one?

My shoes all have a 10 sole width. This was on a 5 but it was a bit big. The 10 size was ordered

Although these shoes are advertised as water shoes, how do they perform as a regular hiking shoe on (dry) dirt trails, rocks, etc.? Have you ever used this before?

I found them to be very tractional, allowing me to drive on a variety of terrains. As well as being comfortable, I find them enjoyable. Despite their mesh panels, they are quick to dry since they have a mesh panel on top. You will also be able to keep your feet warm. While on our last hike, we encountered snow, and the mesh covered the openings and allowed the snow to filter in. It would make sense if the trail was very sandy that sand could be deposited as well. are excellent for me all over New Zealand, and have also worked well for me in Southern Utah. Despite the lack of cushion in the sole, they are incredibly comfortable and cushioned at the ankle area. Thank you for your help.

Is it comfortable to wear socks when you are going in and out of the water with these shoes or does that seem like an unnecessary expense. ?

As I get in and out of the canoe, I usually wear my ankle socks. Since the fabric has an open weave, it dries quickly, but sand and grit do seep through at times. By wearing ankle socks, I am able to lessen the impact of having sand in my shoe and keep up the level of comfort. The rest is not possible.

Although great for climbing, it has sandy trails and is heavily eroded by slot canyons
3/5

Here are the positive aspects first The shoes are really comfortable on your feet and provide excellent traction (even on Sandstone) for scrambling and other outdoor activities Climbing and rapelling are both technical facets of the activity. These shoes, however, are not so great if you have to hike through sandy areas and, are not durable enough to handle the rough stuff you encounter while sandstone canyoneering. In just one weekend in southern Utah I had worn a hole in the rubber on the outside of both my shoes (near the Sand plays a big role in hiking in Utah Canyon Country, as many hikes start and end on, or near, a sandy riverbed or creek bed. The mesh on these shoes does little to keep out fine-grained sand. No matter what you wear, you're going to get some sand in your shoes or boots, but what we're talking about is stopping every quarter mile to empty your shoes and socks because sand is building up inside your socks. (* The shoes would be called something like "Colorado Cross-Overs" if I were Merrel It's important to call them "Trail" or something similar in order to give the right impression that they're great for typical dirt / rocky trails and boulder scrambling as well as recreational use The technical side of It is best to choose something with a finer mesh, or at least something with some sort of breathable barrier on the inside, for very sandy areas.

So far, the results have exceeded expectations
5/5

Since I do light hiking several times a year and take trips to the river yearly, I would prefer a pair of light hiking shoes that could also double as water shoes. I get tired of the flimsy shoes that last one use before getting thrown away due to tearing. In addition to these socks, I also purchased a pair of Merino wool ones, and I plan to purchase a couple more after having tried these. I am just breaking these in at the moment, and they almost feel as if they will not need further breaking in at the moment. The lack of ankle support means these are probably not built for steep hill climbing, but on rough terrain these should be just fine. It is the mesh fabric that makes them very breathable, which is what a veteran hiker told me to look for and why I bought Feeling great in them made the socks great. As a result, the sole is extremely grippy and rugged, but is also very flexible and able to adapt to the foot's natural motions. The treadmill has allowed me to run a few miles this morning and I have done some work outside. I like the feel of them on Generally, I wear between a size 10 and a 12. It is usually a size 5 to an 11 for me, and I like my shoes a little wide. I bought these in a size I ordered 5 of them and they fit perfectly. When I have socks on, they are snug enough to keep them from falling off despite not being uncomfortable. am happy with how they have performed after they have been broken in and am anxious to put them to use on some excursions. When you don't hear from me, that's because I love the shoes so much and have no more to say about them. I will let you know if I run into any problems with them.

This shoe is great
5/5

I love it! Because I already have another pair of Merrell shoes that are a little snug, I was a little nervous before buying this pair. The exact 9 1/2 fits me perfectly, and the toe box is just right as others have mentioned. I initially thought that the toe box would be a little large, but it isn't. My first trip out of Texas was to the coast on the first weekend I owned them. In addition to wearing them on the beach, in the water, and on a boat, I also wear them on the I will be able to walk on rock beds along my favorite river, the Llano River, where I rock hunt, and then walk into the water in these shoes with no trouble. After trying on other high rated brands, I decided that the cost of the suit was worth it despite the price being higher than what I wanted to spend. These shoes are of good quality, and I am pleased I read reviews and did my research before buying. It would be a pleasure for me to recommend these to anyone who asks for them, and I would buy them again when this one.

The video was good, but was cut from the show

The pair of shoes I purchased along with the Merrell All Out Blaze Sieve Water Shoe were chosen because I wanted something I could wear fishing, hiking, and so on during the summer months when I might walk through It ended up being better to return these because I prefer the Sieve. There is definitely a difference between these and the Sieve, as the latter is more of a sandal style. The thin, light, and airy material makes them very comfortable There is no doubt that water will drain quickly from them. It was hard for me to get over the fact that my socks were still moist. Although the vibram soles would be great for walking on flooded rocks, I did not like the bulky design as much. If money wasn't an issue, I probably would have kept both shoes, but the Sieve seemed like it would be better suited to my purposes. The Hiking Shoes would be most useful for hiking, while the Sieves would be the most useful.

The grip is excellent, the comfort is excellent, and the drying rate is fast
5/5

Oahu in Hawaii remained true to these bad boys even after a series of blistering trails. My friends and I bought them just before my trip because we knew that we needed a pair of shoes that would be good for hiking and suitable for water. In places where I normally would need crampons, I did not need to use my crampons in these shoes. They have a great grip. A few times they were submerged in knee-deep mud, used to grip near vertical scrambles, and for walking in hot weather where I needed a breathable shoe and would be walking in hostile terrain where sandals would not be appropriate. There are no issues with tearing or ripping. Based on what I can see, these shoes look pretty well made. As soon as they got muddy, they cleaned easily and dried fast. In any case, I'm quite happy with them. I plan to pick up a pair for my wife as well.

I've never owned a better pair of shoes
5/5

I've never owned a pair of shoes as nice as these. As open as you can possibly get without wearing sandals, these are the best choice for people who like to feel their feet hot and sweaty. When it comes to shoes, I am extremely hard on them. I can only converse for one minute. After 6 months of use, these fell apart. I had them for 2 months before they fell apart. I have wore them every day for 7 months now no matter what I do, and they have just recently started to look old. Throughout swamps and mud, they have been worn. Their comfortable and breathable design makes them the most comfortable shoes ever After buying the exact same shoe back to back, I replaced them with a pair of blaze vents because I don't feel comfortable with it, but I'm planning on getting another pair the next time I Like the vents, they fit similarly. When I tried the Merrell seive they fit the same, but felt more like crocs. If you are looking for footwear that is more breathable, I would choose the Aero. Any surface is extremely grippy thanks to the bottoms.
